Update for May

Greetings everybody. Thanks for checking out my site. You'll notice it looks pretty sweet, huh? Watch for it to keep developing in the next several weeks. By the way, as per several requests, I will be putting my workouts up in the near future.

I'd like to tell you that Sabu says "Hello" but he's not really into talking. He's fine though, so don't be worrying.

Anyone interested in the cannabis prohibition situation should check out Marc Emery and consider his petition before the end of the month. I met this guy in Vancouver a few months ago, and what an interesting story he has! He is the Johnny Appleseed of the herb! If you want to see someone who's upfront about his beliefs you can see him on his online video program Pot.tv.

Wrestlemania 23 is out on DVD this week. Disc 3 has myself and Sabu inducting the Shiek into the hall of fame. I checked out my superstar early release copy, and it has the entire, unedited speech. This is the only time I've gotten credit for speaking well from WWE besides the original One Night Stand shoot promo, so it might be worth checking out.

I will be signing your DVD's Tuesday May 22nd at FYI #1597, Jordan Creek Parkway, in West Des Moines from 12:00 – 2:00. Wow, that's in twelve hours. I better get ready for my flight.

Robot Chicken is on DVD too! Funny, funny stuff.

I recently gave LOST a try and went through the entire first two seasons as quickly as I could watch them. I'm waiting anxiously for season three to come out on DVD, or at least rerun on television because I really enjoy that show. I think you have to start at the beginning, but check it out.

I hate season finales of great shows. Damn it Heroes! Can't we have a few more weeks?

Last show is on now but I've got that flight we were talking about, remember?

Let's do this again soon.

Time to Roll…

RVD

Hey RVD, I hope you stay in ECW. Its sad to see Sabu go, ECW isn't what it should be... first Paulie's fired in all but name, then Sabu's "released"... as a fan that used to get my relatives to get me ECW videos and DVD's a kid I'm sad to see ECW being taken for granted.

I love Tommy Dreamer's blogs on WWE.com's ECW section and your blogs are also very cool.

I was hoping that at One Night Stand yourself or another ECW Original would be regaining the title soon but it seems that with Bobby Lashley being booked against Vince McMahon that it won't be the case.

You are the best WWE and ECW champion period and I hope that Vince McMahon swallows his pride and gives yourself and other ECW Originals the respect they deserve. I'd love to see other ECW Originals who are at indie promotions or disgruntled at other promotions coming to ECW, to give it a true ECW feel.

Bring back Paulie!

ECW Original for champ!

Perhaps it's not my place to say this... But maybe RVD-san isn't allowed to speak of the contract issue as of yet. *shrugs* So here's something to please consider: if the WWE company is not currently a sinking ship then they're doing a fairly convincing impression. I have respect for the WWE overall - but it strikes me as kinda ironic that their most 'extreme' show has the least number of people out with actual injuries. (Thanks, Wikipedia.)

Change is inevitable. I haven't heard much about TNA but competition is healthly and small operations can grow. If RVD-san can grow with them - then maybe that's the most important thing. If he needs to move on to other challenges, like publishing comics or making films - why blame him? Life is too short to spend miserable. RVD-san is at least blessed enough to know where his talents lie. Many people seem to spend their whole lives just searching for that much.

Honestly, I'd wish him luck but I don't think he'll need very much of it. Between the athleticism and the professionalism, he'll be okay. As long as he gets enough sleep. *insert raised eyebrow of mild concern at the 4am update here*

RVD-san, thanks for everything you've done to keep in touch with the fans. For better or worse, we do worry aboutcha. Not like we can help it - you've got a gorgeous aura, you more or less radiate your mood. That's why so many people want to see you happy, it's good for everyone when you are. Please take care.

~CalmMountain

P.S - Uhm. This is kinda awkward but better safe than sorry... You've likely heard a tiny bit about this thing called global warming. The upshot is that the global coastlines are gonna get redrawn within our lifetimes. RVD-san, I wouldn't mention this if you weren't in California.(between trips, anyway...) Cali is a decent place but please get out of there by 2023.

It's great to have news from our everyone favourite wrestler!
From my point of view, maybe this is not the best place put questions about RVD's job. There are many wrestling gossip sites to know about who is leaving "$%&&G federation and who is signing "O)=&)·& contract. Maybe Rob thinks the same about it,because I've never seen him putting or answering any quewstion related to his job.

I've discovered this site a few months ago, and i'm glad to find out that one of my favourite wrestling performers is also a thinking open minded person. All the information you leave us here about cannabis and the consequences of the conservator, narrowed and so bad planified legislation about drugs the EEUU has, is very interesting.

The EEUU government is so bad informed about drugs, and it so affraid of do something that could not like the majority opinion, that they don't even care about make massive mistakes.
I'm from Argentina, and here the law is a bit different from yours. I'm a law student here in my country,i'm 20, and i've been studying argentina's drug law a year ago. After I finished reading all the blog ( and obviusly every single drug-related link),I would be interested in reading EEUU drugs legislation, in order to compare both laws.
But EEUU it's not the first country who talks about "drugs" as a generic term and doesn't mind about promulgate a more accurate, logical and effective 'drug law'.
The problems are the misunderstandings and the lack of information. Lot of people say that only drug users are in favor of legalize drugs, but this is wrong.I'm a very straightedge person ( i fell like CM punk when i wrote this hahaha) but i'm informed, and I know the benefits of different drugs in determined deseases.
But this government people (governement ofevery country) cannot difference cocaine fromr rice and marihuana from yerba mate... so, we have to fit in toits limitation i guess...
sad but true

Great site. See you

Why doesn't wwe choose to put you as a star in a movie? You're the only dude with real skills and has that ''action hero'' look and attitude. You are a heavyweight with high flying abilities. If anyone can play a hero in wwe, it's Rob...Van...Dam.

I heard triple nose, oops i mean triple h will be the star of the next wwe film. Some big nosed, outta shape dude with no skills. who wants to see that? His nose might kill someone watching it on a big screen.

RVD...man politics suck. I've been with you your whole wwe career and have been pissed off many times for how they have treated you. Whether or not you get a wwe film or the high-spot you deserve, you are a REAL HERO.

I feel like a fan-boy typing this but after reading your blog and seeing some of the information on it, I thought I'd pass along information about a book you may enjoy. It is called Reefer Madness by Eric Schlosser, who is the author of Fast Food Nation. The book is divided into three parts: part 1 is about grass and its current state in America, part 2 is about immigrant workers and their exploitation by large companies (i.e. the beef industry, produce industry, etc) and the 3rd section is about the history and beginnings of the porn industry. The book ties all three together and shows the contradictions and hypocrisies that affect each area.
Once again, sorry for being that fan-boy and thanks.

Rob Van Dam hope you're doing fine
I was reading all the comments from some really great fans you have. It's good to know that some people know a little of what goes inside wrestling. For me it's also important for them to know that you could have been better then you are today if you have been giving the chance. I mean you shouldn't have to be loosing this much and being place like a 3rd rate wrestler. You should have had greater rivalries and more title belts added to your resume. I hoped you would have had all that there in the WWE ,but i think it's to late to give them a chance and then let them to what ever thay want with you. I wouldn't be surprised if they're still trying to convince you to stay with all the injuries they have had. The WWE always thinks most about Raw then any other show so now there planning to make a late draft just to help raw and not much smackdown or ECW. I which you were drafted to Raw, stay as a face and kick ass and be world champ many times, but i'm just dreaming. I waited for that for years just to see you go to an ECW managed by Vince and not Heyman. 1st of all you should have won your championship title completely clean. but, it looks like you have to be Cena, Taker, HBK to get a clean win . anyway it's be great if you go to TNA to see if thinks work out better. i just hope you don't get screwed by TNA own Triple H Jeff Jarrett, who just like HHH seems to work ther're wrestling power in there favor. I know you don't speak about these thinks and you may have you're own reason to stay in WWE or leave. I just like many other fans don't want to see the rest of you're career flush down the toilet, or wan't you to say to you're self i should have stayed or i should have left . So for our sake and yours good luck and good thinking. From all the fans who think the way i do and my self best wishes. from probally you're biggest fan J.L.-T.V. bye.

RVD take some time off and then come to TNA. You are only 37 you still have some good years left in you. If you retire you will miss it, and WWE will never be honest with you and give you a lighter schedule. You have worked for Vince McMahon long enough to know that.

Hey RVD love your blog. You always write like you are so down to earth and come across as someone who would be cool as hell to just hand with. I have followed your career since your ECW days and you have always been one of my favorites for the way you bust your ass in the ring. I really hope this isn't the end as we would all hate to see you go so soon. WWE never apprectiated what they had in you and I hope if you decide to come back you come to TNA or maybe ROH. Somewhere anywhere but for that creep Vince McMahon, but I would follow your career no matter where you went because after all you are the Whole F'N show. Take Care man. EC Dub 4 life.

Hi Rob, some fans here talk about how good you would be to play hero in a movie. I would love to see you in an martial arts action movie. I rented Black Mask 2 just to see you. It will be great if Vince at least put you as a star in a movie, at least there i don't believe he will held you back because he already hasn't done that great in movies as he would have liked to do so. Hi Rob, Just right now i saw you in a headline on WWE.com. WWE talking about that you got a concussion, I was very surprise by this that i really can't believe it. Before you came into wrestling Bret Hart was my favorite wrestler and he got a concussion in a match also. I'm asuming this is real and not a WWE angle, because i don't think the WWE would kid with something like this. All i hope is that you're O.K. and it's not something severe, and moreless serious. I'll be checking for updates on WWE.com to see futher information on you're health and what happen. Take care now your fan J.L-T.V

Hi Rob, glad you're o.k. looking foward in watching you a ECW ONE NIGHT STAND hope you win. Hope at least you don't loose, but probally WWE want's Orton to win and be the guy who killed the legend of ECW by defeating it's greatest superstar and i imagine next they'll leave him Randy Orton in ECW. kind of like replacing you and then having him feud with Lashley a bit , but of course i don't expext him to win the title yet because he's supose to be punish for his outside ring actions. So he'll stay in ECW and he'll create heat with the fans like the guy who took out RVD. After all if you leave ECW,WWE or you take some time of and then come back or go somewhere else;you're still be out of wrestling for a while so the WWE will eventually use that as a way of making believe the legend killer took you out just like HBK. so that's it Randy Orton to ECW. Because you know RAW will probally get the better of the draft or trade or free agents. all they say is the guys contract was up and signed with raw. It's not quite the same as smackdown being owned by some one else. after all the WWE puts who ever they want where they want. Anyway i could go on and on but since this is you're site ill just say best wishes, i don't believe in luck. take care. and want you to know that we know, not everything, but some. Remembering you're WWF debut if i can recall, you did the splits in the corner before you're match that looked cocky, but cool. anyway "see ya around" from probally you're biggest fan J.L-T.V. BYE.

Hi Rob. I came to check your site, to see if there was any new comentaries. I enjoy reading what the fans have to say. I like hearing from you ,but i know your very busy.Any how i was thinking that if you do get a "severe concussion" it means that you'll be out of wrestling ,but probally back with WWE, because what good would it be for the WWE have you "taking out by Rany Orton" and then apear on some other show like TNA. It'll make the concussion seem ridiculous. unless you take a month out a least. I was hoping that wasn't the case cause i wanted to see you in TNA and hope you were in TNA what you were in the original ECW. Anyway i hope where ever you are you do great. I don't mind you being in the WWE ,but not this way not with a small push. Guys like HHH get push all year and Cena too. plus you don,t see them loosing consistently to low rank wrestlers or rookies.I would like seeing Them loose to eliah burke and the alphamale and being taking out by snitsky. Just don't buy in to Vince promises that easy. wish you the best. Probally your biggest fan J.L-T.V. take care Rob Szatkowski Goodnight.

Anyway, thanks regarding the comment on Sabu. Please keep us posted on how he is doing.

Hi Rob, RVD if you decide to stay in WWE i hope you get some creative control and much more, if it,s possible. Just incase they wan't to screw your career after you come back. If it's possible ask for world championships and all you could get. But if you leave or retire best wishes. But i still feel you shouldn't have to have your contract renewed to get what you wan't. You look at your career after you lost the World Titles, you take a look back at all that went on you lost way to much and you didn't get to do your type of interviews and many times your music play 1st instead of 2nd as the main star. The only time you see HHH or HBK and even Cena coming in 2nd is to talk before there match. So there probally just kissing your a? now so you could help there ECW show. You should have gotten more respect.before and not now. assuming the rumors are true. For me what i feel would be a great career having long storylines with top stars like Cena HBk Batista Taker Lashley being still a face and getting clean victories and pins also a good story with vince. Even showing up a Raw where more fans watch a new fans could be get to know you . With your old style interviews from ECW.Like the ones i remember you with Sabu and Fonsi. fonsi would be yelling all hyped up about what you were going to do to certain wresler and you would tell him to calm down you would imitate what he said exactly how he said it. and then you would tell fonsi how he had to act. There in ECW you were at your best and you had the freedom to be the way you wanted to be.With WWE you never know. Many times in WWE now you be doing your thumbs to you shoulder and you would get hit before your finish making you look like a fool it was done many times. Then what else it seem that every match they would make the angle where you would go up the top rope to do your frog splash before you turn they would push you head 1st down.even when you fought Cena they Didn't let you do all your stuff. It made your wrestling matches seem lame them having you do every time the same angle. If i Manage your career i had you win the King of the Ring back then verses Brock Lesnar. and you winning the Title vs Rock. I'd still push Brock ,but ill bet you would have done huge. But WWE now feels only person they can push are guys like Cena who could make fun of other wrestlers. He's the newer version of the Rock who was also hated even though was a face. Or you have to have the physic of a Batista or Lashley, lesnar, goldberg that even though they can't talk much get huge pushes. Also you were Huge when you came to WWE a 2nd time you would have beaten Angle and Austin in the Triple Threat match and by now you would have had at leat 4 world titles to you credit not like before waiting on your 1st.Some people could see those Talents on guys like Carlito or Jeff Hardy, but if you keep making them loose and ending short on almost winning the World Title it could easyly resemble your career. WWe should stop draging wrestlers for years waiting on them to be old. whats the risk giving a world title to Jeff Hardy cause its not the time . If that was the case probally mike Tyson would have never been champ if boxing was like wrestling. because all these wrestlers have what it takes to be champ now. more then much later. for get the Mic there other ways to push wrestlers ,but keep making them loose or holding them as tag team wrestlers or giving them 10 Ic tiltes then 5 Tag Titles. After years they push Edge when he all weak and lost fan base ,but of course he deserve it . It seems that every wrestler that get's hurt for a year deserve the tilte afterwards. Edge , Austin ,HHH, yourself. Any way i get to carry away my mind keeps rolling on things to say. RVD hope you get the best and every wrestler who deserves it also. From probally your biggest fan J.L-T.V takecare now, happy summer vacation,Bye.

Hi Rob,

The Emery thing has made me angrier than anything in recent memory.

Partly because it's insane that cannabis is still illegal (think of the legal tax money, I keep saying), but more so because it's a case of the US government trying to extend its authority into yet another sovereign nation: Canada. It's fine and good for the US Gov to do what it wants in its own territory (silly as it may be), but to come up here trying to flex DEA muscle? Not cool.

I read up on your arrest on Wikipedia; glad you only got a fine, that helps to set precedent and move attitudes toward, at the very least, decriminalization. But Christ, even 18 grams isn't worth a fine. That might last me a week, lol.

Keep on Keepin' on,

Jason MacLeod
