It is about time for an RVD blog, right? I realize I may take too long in between posts, but I start to write several blogs for weeks before I actually complete and post one, so that’s how it comes together. In an effort to stay better connected to you, and to keep up with technology, I’m giving in to several requests and starting a Twitter account. Sign up to follow what I’m doing at Twitter@therealRVD

Rob Van Dam (TherealRVD) on Twitter I hope that each of you had a fantastic easter Sunday, but statistically speaking, that’s not likely. Hopefully you were in the percentage of happy holiday havers. What could be better than celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ by painting and hiding eggs and pretending a rabbit did it? Yay Easter! Where’s the drink and food?

We just got back from France, where I wrestled for the up and coming AWR. It was a good experience being back on the road, from wrestling nine matches to long bus rides between towns, finding gyms on the road and hoping to score good food when the bus stopped. A lot of the things that got to be monotonous before were very tolerable for me this time. It was second nature to me and I guess some of my burn-out has cooled off because for the first time I can remember while over- seas, I wasn’t anxiously counting the hours until my flight home came. Sonya and I stayed an extra day in Paris and had a great time. On RVD TV you can see footage from the trip and catch glimpses of Chris Masters, Sabu, Scotty 2 Hotty, Marty Janetty, Gangrel, Heidenreich, Renee Dupree and/or other AWR wrestlers. We were looking forward to seeing Test but unfortunately, he passed away two days before the trip.

I have no doubt that I would’ve had some kick ass matches with him that most likely would’ve produced black eyes for one or both of us.

One thing that’s worth mentioning-I’ve been asked a few times if Test’s passing put a dark cloud over the whole trip. We were bummed that we wouldn’t see him again, and all told Test stories to each other, but sadly, we are all used to this routine. After so many of us have died prematurely, it’s almost like we’re trained to handle this, and life goes on. We all took a look at the bus full of wrestlers, and have to admit to ourselves that there’s a decent chance that next time we all get together, we may be a smaller group still.

Over the years I’ve gone from being devastated by news of Louie Spicolli’s death, to asking “Who died this time?” when someone in the business asks “Have you heard?”

At 33 years old, Test accidentally ended his life, while my peers continue to push the envelope. Being away from a binding contract that kept me on the road, I often feel like a survivor that made it home from the war. That’s not meant to be insensitive to war vets that have experienced far worse than I have.

By the way, as long as we’re talking about it, my views have always differed from the military mentality. We all have friends or family in the services and we’re glad that they’re going to the desert instead of us. However, that doesn’t make them heroes in my mind. While they are brainwashed from the beginning into believing that getting shot by non-Americans is an honorable way to die, I think this sounds a bit like Kamikaze craziness. If you choose to be a gun fighter, you may get shot at. Is it ok that you want to kill non-American soldiers, because the U.S. government says it’s ok, or does that still make you a killer? Does it seem right to you that if you make it back home from the war, whether dead or alive, America is supposed to honor you unconditionally? Should it matter what kind of a person you are or should we all just worship you as a hero because you chose to risk your life to kill foreigners? I guess I never accepted the message that sacrificing my life to the political agendas of the current president equated to being a hero. Would God be pleased that I got my head blown off in the name of American beliefs? Or that I blew up a building that housed a family that felt different about God than I do? Who knows. I think the biggest difference in beliefs for me is that I don’t think that the dirt I stand on is worth dying for. I understand that these men ( or boys) do what they do so I can do what I do, protecting the American dream, but war is all about killing or dying while trying. I have had the pleasure of setting foot in many other countries, and I’d rather live in any one of them instead of dying in mine-even India, and they poop on the side of the road there.

While looking out the double decker bus window in Europe, we saw a lot of ancient castles and churches that were hundreds of years old. It made me think of just how long we’ve been killing each other over who’s right about God. It seems totally unnecessary from where RVD sits. Has anyone been able to prove that they were right about God anytime in their life? If so, I must’ve missed it. Thumpers, have a field day with that.

The official street date for RVD TV DVD Vol 1 is May 5th, 2009. Go to BIG VISION ENTERTAINMENT ‘s web site for ordering info. The sneak peek DVD is still exclusively available at robvandam.com.

Can you believe how common it is to hear of missing or found-dead children? Before we left town, the headline news went from the Caylee Anthony situation to Haleigh Cummings-both unimaginably horrible cases. Now that we’re back, we’re learning all about the monster that killed that sweet little 8 year-old girl, Sandra Cantu. I can’t even imagine how it would feel to want to hurt such an innocent, helpless child...and I have a hell of an imagination.

While we were in France, on the news was the sentencing in Austria of Joseph Fritzl- who imprisoned and raped his daughter in a hidden cell in his basement for 24 years!! He fathered seven children that were his own grandchildren!! You guys hear about this ass hole?

I made an offer last week on RVD RADIO that’s worth repeating. We were talking about pedophiles, that prey on innocent children and not only hurt them but maybe even kill them. I said that anyone in the listening audience that may be one of these monsters, and I’ll expand it to my blog reading audience, feel free to call in to my show any time. There’s not enough accessible advice for people like you and I’ll help you do the right thing, and kill yourself live on the air.

That’s www..blogtalkradio.com/rvdradio or (347) 308-8754 on Wednesdays.

Now that President Obama has given the green light on stem cell research, expect a lot of cures to be “discovered”. They know they can do it, they just have to make sure they can get paid for it.

Did you guys notice how the question of legalizing marijuana for economic reasons was snickered at and dismissed at Obama’s recent Q&A? It was the most voted on question, and yet everyone in view on camera laughed at it like it was a joke, even the president. We need money. That’s the only reason pot is prohibited anyway-to protect financial interests. It’s time to quit pouring that money out to the streets and put it where we can use it. Tonight at 10p.m. ( 7 p.s.t.), I’ll be on Geraldo at Large on Fox News to discuss this. 4/19/09

Besides disagreeing with the presidents feelings on legalizing marijuana, I like the guy. He’s a world leader, uniting several countries with a common feeling of trust. He visited over seas while we were there too, and welcomed France back to NATO for the first time in over 40 years. I still don’t care about his dog though, and am tired of hearing about it blown up on the news. What about you?

I haven’t been writing much about Wrong Side of Town- the action movie written to showcase RVD-because in typical Hollywood fashion, it has met delays that I don’t want to bore you with.. Having said that, I will be updating you from the set, providing I find the time as we are rolling into production next week. Obviously, we have much to talk about here.

I’m expecting to have a lot of fun filming this movie. I’ve always been a fan of action movies, specifically fight movies. That’s why it’s so cool to have participated in three martial arts movies and now to be starring in an RVD movie. That’s what we dream chasers do. I think that some people are wired to believe that the world is full of endless opportunities while others feel that the dream life isn’t meant for them. Some of us want it all and that drives us, while others are content to watch from the sidelines, living vicariously through others. Do you agree? If so, which are you?

I spoke with boy genius and brain researcher Chris Nowinski about the possibility that successful people are wired to think differently. I don’t know if that’s a fact, but I do have an opinion. I’ve had my share of use and abuse of what some call “vices”, but I’ve never felt like something was stronger than me. Since I don’t know what it’s like to feel like I want to quit something but can not because it is stronger than my mind, I can only assume that people use this as an excuse to give themselves a break. I only think I can. That’s seeing success. If I think I can not, that’s failure-not success.

Have a festive 4-20 everybody! If you need another holiday to add to your list, feel free to celebrate April 20th along with many of us enthusiasts. Tell the boss you need the day off. If for nothing else, my dad’s birthday! Yay! Food and drink...or whatever. Cough.

Ok, go join my Twitter account so I can hit you up from the limo on the way to the Geraldo show later on.

Twitter@therealRVD..

Have an awesome day.

"Weedies" endorsement

Hello to all my free thinkers who wait patiently for me to get around to writing these blogs. It is that time again. In the near future, I think I may give video blogging a try. Anyways, I feel like writing so if you feel like reading...

What’s on the table? Wrong Side of Town has been post-poned until April. You know that if you listen to RVD RADIO. Listeners are privy to a lot of information and stories that non listeners don’t get. Last weeks episode was one of the most downloaded archives we’ve had so far, thanks to some incredibly funny stories that aired. Check us out live on Wednesdays. This week Brett Hart, Justin McCully, Sabu, Fonzie and others joined SVD and I to talk about the Death Penalty-which you can’t discuss without bringing up child predators, gun control and private prison incomes. That’s how we roll on RVD RADIO.

Also in April, RVD TV DVD Vol 1 hits the stores with lots of bonus unseen footage. More info on that coming soon. Medium Rob tells me its already on Best Buy’s web site, so that’s cool.

I’m looking forward to getting back in the ring in a couple weeks in France. With 9 matches on the tour, I’ll be wrestling along with the Masterpiece, Sabu, Scotty 2 Hotty, Test, Marty Janetty, Heidenreich, Gangriel and...here, just go to their web site and check it out www.awrwrestling.com/

Since we’ll be returning the 3rd of April,

I’ll have to miss Booker T’s huge Legends of Wrestling Fan Fest, but you don’t. Find out how you can meet Sting,Kevin Nash, Samoa Joe, Christie Hemme, well, there’s too many to name. Go to the web site! http://www.bookertlow.com/index.shtml

Does everyone want to beat the shit out of Chris Brown as much as I do? Rihanna’s going to lose a lot of fans if she takes this punk back. I’m sure he’s just as innocent as O.J.

As the boyfriend of the murdered Virginia Rappe once said about the accused Fatty Arbuckle- “This is what comes of taking vulgarians from the gutter and paying them enormous salaries and making idols of them.” Yeah, I quoted a piece of Hollywood history that probably no one will understand. What about it?

We all love Rihanna’s eyes and no one wants to see them black and blue. She needs to do the right thing and find another fella...ella...ella.

My favorite radio station in Los Angeles changed format from talk radio to...well, who cares? I’m not going to listen to it. You can get the podcast of Adam Corolla, but basically- there is no more talk radio in L.A. I guess if I liked basketball there’s AM radio, but I don’t. So far, we still have Love Lines so we can hear Dr. Drew tell kids that taking ecstasy can effect their orgasm, but gross! You mean I have to get Serious Radio now? I’ll look into it. I hope my friend Chuck Zito still has his show on.

I find good talk, whether it’s on the radio or on a Friends in High Places episode on RVD TV, to be stimulating to the brain. Maybe a new talk radio station will fill that slot in L.A. soon. They better. Fuckers.

Bob Backlund is appearing with Ric Flair and others to sign autographs and take photos at the end of the month. It’s coming quickly http://www.1wrestling.com/news/newsline.asp?news=34946 Dude, if you haven’t seen Nitro Circus- find it. It’s a very, very entertaining show. Travis Pastrana was the first extremist to backflip a motor cycle-you saw that footage-and now that he’s retired from competing( I think) he and his friends do the most amazing stunts. Hydro planing motor cycles across water, jumping from an airplane with no chute, flipping a fucking monster truck! It’s ten times better than the best stunts you liked from Jackass, but without the gay. C’mon, I’m just saying what we all know. If you and a group of your buddies all know exactly what each others butt holes look like, you might be gay. Anyway, I highly recommend Nitro Circus. These guys take harder bumps than wrestlers and always seem like they should’ve been majorly fucked up, but they get up and do it again! They don’t make you wait for long set ups, the show moves at a quick pace and they even have a crazy girl doing their stunts!!!

Have you guys noticed a slight slump in our economy? President Obama had sworn to quit wasting federal resources and he is coming through with his promises. Last week, he finally got around to looking at the medical marijuana policy and the new attorney general Eric Holder made the official announcement for the new American policy. Federal law complies with state law on the marijuana issue.

For everyone that is reading this and thinking “oh, big deal” I have some news for you, because I know you count on me doing the thinking for you sometimes. There is no fear of being harassed by the DEA if you have a doctor’s card in 13 states now. Marijuana dispensaries are a legitimate business, generating big tax revenues for the state. They are going to look at that, and then consider ideas like the bill Tom Ammiano from San Francisco is trying to get approved in Sacramento right now-legalizing the herb for everyone 21 and over. Most of us are too young to remember that ending alcohol prohibition got us out of the depression in the 30’s because people drank anyway and the profit went to the streets. How long will haters refuse to consider looking at the honest facts in favor or keeping America in the dark?

I, for one, will not let the lights go out. People like Kimberly Guilfoyle- who had the ignorance on my Geraldo appearance to suggest Michael Phelps should put down the weed and eat some carrots-think that even looking into the truths about the plant is a dirty thing to do. Is that what you think? Sounds like brain washing to me. By the way, does anybody believe that Miss Guilfoyle knows more about physical fitness than Michael Phelps? Or RVD for that matter? I would love a chance to debate her or any opposers on this issue. In years of researching, I have never came across one good reason for marijuana prohibition. I’m guessing that it won’t be very long before it’s not an issue.

By the way, coming from Battle Creek, I know a lot of people who count on money generated from Kellogg’s. That’s why taking a stance like they did by dropping their endorsement of Michael Phelps’s risks a lot of people’s wellness. I don’t wish those people any harm but I have decided to join the thousands out there who will not be purchasing Kellogg’s products in the name of moving forward. Kellogg’s was the only sponsor to want to make the statement that they made, which to me is a bad one. As I alway say, kids should not consume pot. Adults should not lie to kids about it or they won’t get or deserve trust.

Founded on lies, protected by lies, the plant that never killed anyone has been the number one distraction from important issues that need focus. After decades of the government denying the medicinal properties of cannabis, they now admit that it is medicine if the state claims it is, and that’s going to help so many people out. People like I saw wasting away up at the chemo infusion rooms at City of Hope because their policy on mj- when asked how to stimulate appetite or suppress nausea- was to not bring it up,but if someone else brought it up- like me, they told everyone that they should try it. That shit’s got to change. Think about those people, tired and weak from not eating, when you say “ I wish Rob would quit talking about weed.”

Go back to thinking that your taxes are all going to support the Octo-Mom and enjoy the dark, sheeple. Just don’t expect RVD’s blogs to not hurt your eyes a little.

Everyone else, enjoy your day. I’ll leave you with some wisdom spat out by a wise monkey recently that helped put things into perspective.

What you do for yourself, you take with you.

What you do for others, you leave behind.

RVD...making the world a better place!

RVD at LARGE

Have you people been watching the news lately? There’s just so much to talk about!

Yes, I made big news when I returned to WWE for the Royal Rumble- and yes, I did look good- OK, OK, real good-but I let’s talk about what’s on the TV news lately. We survi ved the Peanut Butter scare (most of us), we witnessed Jessica Simpson getting brutalized for looking bigger, and now the big news is that Christian Bale lost his temper and yelled at someone using adult language. Ooh. Shocking. Are you guys getting pelted with t his over and over?

Here’s one thought provoking piece of news I saw the other day that caught my attention. I saw a married couple petting the clone of their dead dog. Crazy? Yeah, kinda. No, make that very crazy. They loved their pet. They want their pet to live forever. Ok. I get that, but what is that thing they’re petting? Does it have their dog’s memory? They said it had the personality, but was still a puppy- although it was rapidly approaching full growth at like 8 weeks. Any opinions out of you?

I don’t know if this is huge everywhere, or just here, but the lady with the octuplets is all over the tube here in California. She already had 6 kids, then received 8 embryos via vitro fertilization, resulting in 8 m ore babies. Obviously, this lady feels that it is her destiny to have many children. Sonya’s great aunt had 13 kids. It used to be popular back in the day of righteous morality so why is everyone so upset over this lady’s situation? She said she’s never accepted welfare, and that God will provide what she and the family needs. I live by that same faith, knowing that my glass will be full when I need it to be. Are we trying to apply New World Order ethics, controlling the Earth’s population and perhaps even deciding who should be allowed to live? Is the gift of life ours to control? Exercise your right to have an opinion by calling this lady crazy because she made a decision that you would not have, but is it your business to decide she’s committed a crime against society? My wife of over 10 years and I have chosen not to bring children into this world. Are we criminals as well because we have different feelings than you do?

Even if you haven’t been watching the news, you’ve almost had to have heard the controversy surrounding Michael Phelps. Here’s the deal. Michael proved himself to be one of the greatest athletes in the world at the 2008 Olympics. Winning 8 gold medals solidified Michael’s position as THE American hero. His unmatchable credentials are his reward for his hard work, and his success makes him a celebrity role model for life.

That is why so many people are going nuts over a photograph that surfaced, showing Michael-appearing to be taking a rip from a water bong. Ok. Let’s not ignore the fact that

marijuana prohibition always has been and still is based on lies, and has no moral value. Here’s a quick recap for you regular, free-thinking blog readers and some education for the newbies. In 1937, based on testimonies that marijuana caused promiscuity, violence, and eventually inevitable insanity, the harmless plant was outlawed, making room for huge profits from the newly reinstated sales of alcohol.

Today, the Federal Government uses lies that even they couldn’t believe, to continue raking in profits by making criminals out of good peop le. I know you aren’t going to want to accept this as fact, so please look up the following ridiculous current bull shit:

Listed as a schedule 1 controlled substance ( meaning most dangerous with no medicinal value) is marijuana, alongside of heroin and acid. Listed as a schedule 2 controlled substance ( you guessed it- less dangerous and more medicinal) is the very popular meth and cocaine. Does anybody believe that meth is safer than pot? If that’s what we’re teaching our country, it’s time some attention was put on this. Thank you Michael. In fact, that’s the exact bullshit that I was fed in school in the eighties. Look up all your favorite safer-than-pot drugs here, and party as you will- as long as the government can profit from your choice of substances... DEA - Contro lled Substance Schedules Disclaimer.

Even if you ignore the fact that the Feds have a program where they supply patients with medical marijuana, even if you want to ignore that hospitals profit from prescribing Marinol ( a synthetic form of THC- the active ingredient in marijuana), and even if you want to ignore that we have 13 states ( 25% of the country’s population) where the laws back the doctor’s recommendations for medicinal use, you can’t tell me that there is no medicinal value in cannabis because I witnessed the quality of life it helped provide for my wife while she suffered through 6 months of chemo-therapy. You can’t tell me that, and neither can the government-and if I had my way, they couldn’t tell you that bullshit either.

Although President Obama has vowed to quit wasting our resources on arresting patients, he has not appointed his new DEA yet. In the mean time, Bush’s cronies are still in office, taking advantage of this transitionary period to bust five dispensaries here i n Cali over the last several days. Step on it, Obama. People are suffering. Forgetting the medicinal argument and sticking to the subject of recreational marijuana use, our country spends over 7 billion dollars annually to arrest over 700,000 people because they choose to use the organic weed.

I’m glad that I have a position to reach a lot of you to share the truth. That brings me back to Phelps. He has a chance to educate people on the truth. Although the photo doesn’t prove any illegal substance was present, let’s assume the worse, because he’s not ducking it. Every head shop in every town I’ve ever been in refers to them as water pipes or tobacco pipes, now all of a sudden the news reporters say it’s a marijuana=2 0pipe in the photo. Whatever. Being such an advocate for freedom and truth, I also have a strong belief that kids should stay away from marijuana. We should tell them the truth- that their developing brains are like wet cement and playing with it before it’s developed is a bad idea. What we should not do, is tell them it’s a fucking drug like heroin.20If Michael Phelps was busted injecting heroin, people would have every right to go nuts over it. In the current situation, many seem to ignore the difference, just like the government wants us to. “ He broke the law.” “He was caught doing drugs.” He was ingesting marijuana-allegedly- which close to 50% of Americans try at least once.

If Kellogg’s wants to drop their endorsement because he’s inconsistent with their image, fine. That’s their choice, as a business. It’s also a business choice for nearly ALL sporting events to promote big alcohol company sponsors. I guess that’s consistent with their image.

I hope Michael doesn’t sell out and start doing public service announcements about how “dangerous” and “potentially deadly” his reckless actions were. It costed millions. I’m sure he’s sorry he got busted. Here’s what I’d like to see...

How about we stop ignoring the fact that World Champion athletes who take their health extremely seriously sometimes choose to use marijuana? Why are we ignoring the message there?

I could go on and on here, but I think I’ll reach more people with Fox News. Set your recorders to catch RVD on “Geraldo at Large” tonight at 10:00 pm e.s.t. ( 2-6-09 ).

Geraldo At Large - FOXNews.com

Besides the distractions of the news, I have my focus mostly on preparing for the action movie “Wrong Side of Town”, which begins filming almost immediately. I’ll keep you posted from the set on RVD TV, which you better check out if you haven’t yet.

Immediately following the movie, I’ll be re-packing my bags and heading to Europe for a couple weeks, wrestling for the AWR. Sonya and I are really looking forward to this upcoming tour, also featuring Chris Mordetzky, Marty Jannetty, Andrew "Test" Martin, Sabu, Gangrel, Scotty The Hotty, Heidenreich , Shawn Maxer, The Suicide Machine, Paul Tracey, Dunkan Disorderly, "Hot Stuff" Joey C, The Mexican Mini Wrestlers and... the hard hitting ladies of American Wrestling.

Here’s what we have for a schedule:

Wednesday Mar-18 Paris (Zénith)France

Friday Mar-20 Rouen (Zénith)France

Saturday Mar-21 Clermont Ferrand (Zénith)France

Sunday Mar-22 Dijon (Zénith)France

Tuesday Mar-24 Bordeaux (Patinoire)France

Thursday Mar-26 Liege (Palais Des Sports)Belgium

Friday Mar-27 Basel (St Jacobs Halle)Switzerland

Saturday Mar-28 Grenoble (Palais Des Sports)France

Sunday Mar-29 Nancy (Zénith)France

Wednesday20Apr-01 Lausanne (Patinoire)Switzerland

Check out their web site at www.awrwrestling.com/

As always, I’m holding back on telling you about a bunch of stuff, so keep checking

It's Warm in Cali

Let’s see, what do I have to talk about this week?

Oh right- there’s my kick-ass appearance at the Royal Rumble! YouTube - WWE - Rob Van Dam RVD Returns - Royal Rumble 2009 Check it out unless it's taken down before you get a chance. This came together at the last minute and worked out well for everyone, you included!

Besides the awesome RVD kicks flying everywhere, it was cool seeing everyone back stage. Yes- everyone. I also enjoyed knowing that these guys were driving on to Cleveland while I was flying back to Cali!

In a really therapeutic way, Sonya got a lot of energy from seeing everyone, and everyone seeing her. She’s amazing, and we know that she has inspired many of you, and myself also.

In Sonya’s first-ever blog, she’d like to thank everyone for all their personal efforts to participate in her healing.

------------

Hi Everybody!

I know this is long overdue so please forgive me, as you can imagine I’ve had a lot on my plate. I want to say THANK YOU to everyone that said a prayer for me, lit a candle at mass, held me close in your hearts and thoughts, sent me an email, or a card. I read them all! Many of them more than once. I want to thank all of you that shared your stories of hope and survival from this vicious disease. Thank you to those of you that sent gifts, they were all so thoughtful and kind. I love my plush animals filled with homegrown lavender, the plants and flowers, my mega gift basket stuffed full of amazing organic products, and my knitted with love lavender scarf. These are only some of the cool things you all sent. I can’t say thank you enough.

I’ve now finished chemo! YAY! My new mission in life is to enjoy every second of it cancer free. For those of you that have cancer in your family please get regular check ups, early detection is key. If you are due for a colonoscopy and you are scared, take it from someone that must get one every year, the prep is the worst part. Know your body and wear sunscreen! Most importantly, when life rains on you jump in the puddles and splash. Don’t wait until something like cancer comes along to illuminate your rainbows.

Much love and good health,

Sonya “SVD” Van Dam

------------

What else? Oh, did we talk about the movie? Next on my list of projects to attack is an action packed display of coolness called Wrong Side of Town. I’ve been in 3 martial arts movies so far-name them with me....Super Fights, Blood Moon and Black Mask 2, but this movie is starring RVD! Huge difference there! I should be able to handle it, seeing as how I’m an action hero in real life. More info on this forthcoming. I’m looking forward to filming RVD TV on the set for a few weeks to give you watchers the real back stage inside scoop! Filming starts in early February so I’m “prepping” for it now. Because of that...

RVD RADIO( which recently won the People’s Choice Award) will be taking a break from live shows for a few weeks. My awesome producer at blogtalkradio Nikki Starr will be filling in with some archives and will keep the chat room open for the regulars who look forward to our weekly gift of feeling socially adequate for 2 hours every Wednesday from 9-11(6-8 p.s.t.)

Noticed the new ROBVANDAM.com site?

It’s pretty sweet, huh?

More features-like videos from me or youtube or even my demo reel of action on the profile page!

While you’re checking out the new features, take a look at the RVD outfit that’s up for auction. When 5 Star Comics online store manager Tony Vela ( plug for ya, Ton!) told me that I gave him an outfit that’s been on trading cards and even an action figure, I almost wanted to take it back and trade it for another. Almost.

Also, take a look at RVD TV DVD Vol 1. This is the first of many to come, and an exclusive at ROBVANDAM.com. This is a sneak peek at a varied version of a DVD that will be in stores in the spring. Every DVD from my web site still comes with an autograph. Sweet!

Another of one of my many projects is a comic book that I wrote, which is materializing at it’s own pace. Here’s the deal. It’s a 4 book set and after 2 books, my artist had to leave the project. I need someone to replace him, but I really, really like his art work and I’m only interested in finding someone that can match his style-which you can see a sample of here.....final_page_11_.jpg 685×1023 pixels and final_page_12_.jpg 614×1024 pixels If you can hang, send in a sample to my webmaster at unkinddesigns@yahoo.com.

I heard the new RVD Classics action figure is due out in Spring. I hope they make a lot of them. I always noticed that my figures were hard to find in stores. I’m sure you noticed the same thing. There were plenty of certain wrestler’s figures but not mine. Hmm..You’d think they would’ve made more, but I guess they needed the room on the shelves for the others to hang. I think they felt the same way about my t shirts in the arenas. Ahh..the good ol’ days.

After filming Wrong Side of Town, Sonya and I will be on tour in France, where I’ll be wrestling for one of those select bookings that I take. This is not a green light for promoters to contact me about working in their flea markets. If you would contact any of the select promoters that I have worked with over the last couple years instead, I’m quite sure you’d have a different idea of RVD fitting into your budget.

What do you think? Enough news? No. I know you...you want to leave this blog thinking.

On our last RVD RADIO show-which you can still listen to-we talked about Power and Greed. We had Sabu, Spike Dudley, Fonzie, Officer X, Neil Kaplan and others on-hand to discuss the deep subjects. The thing with Greed for me is this. I want a big house. I want several big houses with millions in the bank. Is that greedy? As a dream chaser I find that I want to reach for the stars, and I believe that many people feel that you should only want what you need or you are sinning. Maybe I’m wrong. Where do you draw the line? Is it a sin to want a lot? If you already have a lot? More money? More sexual partners? More friends? More food? More happiness? More power? More Where do you draw the line between greedy and ambitious?

With power, I believe it can mostly be limited to having something that others want. That gives you power over them. If you can help them with a job, favor, whatever upgrade in life-you have power over them. If they don’t want what you have, there goes your power.

The guy that takes pride in the loud noises that his motorcycle makes when he’s revving it up thinks he’s cool because he has that power. I think it’s just obnoxious. He has no power over me. The power of influence is a good thing, and from our conversation we talked about my ability to empower others with positive energy. This bout did not air on Spike TV, but can be seen at http://www.ufc.com/index.cfm?fa=videoPlayer.home&gid=16440
JMC was in his best shape in UFC history and fought like the master that he is.

My good friend and very funny comedian Larry Weaver has a new eBook entitled "Funny Employee Awards: Your Complete Guide to Organizing a Humorous, Entertaining and Rewarding Recognition Ceremony." It features 101 funny awards certificates that you can print and give to your coworkers.

Check it out at http://www.funnyemployeeawards.com/funny-awards-book.asp

Sonya and I went to a screening of “The Wrestler”. I like Mickey Rourke. I like Marisa Tormei. It was entertaining to watch, from the beginning to the end, but it left me feeling a bit... disturbed. The character is doomed from the start because he’s a wrestler from the 80’s who just won’t quit and sacrifices everything for his passion. It was too real. At the same time, that’s what they went for. They told a story about a particular man at a particular time in his life, and they chose a depressing story to tell. I didn’t really know how I felt after seeing it, just unfulfilled. Maybe it was because I wanted the other side of the coin exposed. Maybe I felt judged. When I shook the director (Darren Aronofsky)’s hand, I just id “Thanks for reducing my life’s dream’s to rubbish.” I’m not sure if everyone got the message that I did from the movie, but I’m pretty sure it had to do with the meaninglessness of the wrestler’s commitment to his dream. Go see it, form your own opinion. You know what? Let’s talk about “The Wrestler” on RVD RADIO Wednesday as well.

Click here to read about the oldest stash in history- two pounds of still-green marijuana found in a 2,700-year-old Gobi Desert grave!
 http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/28034925

Here’s something else in the news that I found to be VERY interesting. A man named Felix Kha was cited for possession of marijuana, even though he produced the proper documentation, identifying him as a medical marijuana patient, here in Cali. The Orange County Court ruled not only that the man was in compliance with the law, but also that the police must return the marijuana to its rightful owner. The police refused-of course- and with the city behind them in support, went to the Supreme Court to fight for their cause. DENIED! They have to give it back!
"It's now settled that state law enforcement officers cannot arrest medical marijuana patients or seize their medicine simply because they prefer the contrary federal law"."Perhaps, in the future local government will think twice about expending significant time and resources to defy a law that is overwhelmingly supported by the people of our state."

Read more about this story at Cops must return stolen property . Remember everyone, we now have 25% of American adults living in Medical Marijuana states, and a president-elect that will not endorse arresting patients. Still don’t see a change happening in our life time? Keep thinking that then, stubborn reader-but I side with common sense.

When I read the comments that you readers leave for this blog on my myspace page, I’m going to be looking for your answer to a question I pose.. Well, that and of course more importantly the congrats to SVD. Yay! Ok. You ready? This is a serious question. I really want to know what your opinions are on this. Here we go.
Why do you think the top killing drug ( by far-many hundreds of thousands of annual deaths ahead of second place) is the most accepted to use?

I look forward to learning from your responses. Until then, and after then...oh, what the hell- during then, too...Have an awesome time enjoying life!

"Found $$$"

What’s up free thinkers? Are you enjoying these debates?..

It seems that our country really wants to feel comfortable that someone is working on fixing our economy, before we get sold and bought at a reduced price. The Central Banks could buy us, but they’d rather jut loan us our freedom, at present value plus interest. When these banks loan us each dollar for a dollar plus interest, can we ever truly catch up? Not mathematically- and this is exactly when you should use mathematics.

Let’s stretch our imaginations and pretend that we are in such bad shape that we need to find a way to bring profitable income to our government. We need cash. We need it now. Ok, it’s not so pretend. It’s very fucking real.

Not only could we save 7 billion dollars annually from ceasing to chase down the “Devil’s Weed”, but we’d better utilize our resources- like the armies of wasted soldiers and researchers and bogus office positions to focus on something with merit. If we regulated and taxed marijuana, based on today’s national usage, revenues would likely exceed an amount of another 30 or 40 billion. Having that money in the economy wouldn’t suck, would it? Instead, they’ll want to make sure you pay the ridiculous jacked-up price at the pharmacy if you want to achieve good health. That way, the rich get richer.

If you want to expand this conversation to include the failing War on Drugs, we’ll use dollar amounts that are 3 or 4 times the amount wasted to prohibit the natural medicine of Cannabis. Easily. By the way, they allow doctors to prescribe THC in a pill form, which is a blatant admission of its medicinal value, but they deny it at the same time so they can get richer. Of course, the Feds give cannabis to those 5 patients on their system anyway, while arresting others for the EXACT same “crime”, so what the fuck.

If you are interested in knowing where the presidential candidates stand on the medical marijuana issue, I HIGHLY encourage you to check out this clip from MPP TV.

By the way, if you live in Michigan or in Massachusetts your vote can be the one that stops the illogical criminalization and helps the needy obtain their medicine without fear. Both states have an excellent chance for passing favorable laws on Nov. 4th and becoming the nation’s 13th state to admit what we already know. They are both going to have to fight a lot of lies between now and then, so lend your support if you are able. MPP Homepage

Last week’s RVD RADIO premier- or as I like to call it, “test run”, had such a huge response, that the high volume of callers overloaded the switchboard and caused big problems for the techs. Despite several unsuccessful attempts to connect calls, audio level and equipment issues, Masterpiece and I both enjoyed it and we’re looking forward to doing it again Wednesday. Because many of you called and didn’t get through, we’re going to be live for 2 hours this week, at a special time before the big debates. From 4/7 to 6/9 we’ll discuss topics such as Addiction, Will Power, Brain Damage, RVD TV and wrestling. Chris “the Brain” Nowinski will join us from the Sports Legacy Institute, and we’ll check in with Dr. Shawn Staziak. I’ve read from many fans who enjoyed the show and who have committed to listening every week, so that’s cool. I’ve also been asked quite a bit if the shows will be archived and they are. If you go to RVD RADIO last week’s show comes up, and soon I’ll have them available at robvandam.com and myspace/5starcomics.com.

If you’re upset because you really wanted to talk about censorship last week, bring it up anyway. My feelings are genuine so when you bring up my topics, you’re bringing up my feelings. As far as censorship goes...on regular tv, you can show a breast, as long as you’re operating on it or it’s dead, but not on a beach, unless it’s a documentary about Africa, and you can show your middle finger as long as it’s with your other fingers but if it gets separated, you are not to show it or you will be censored.

You know, I doubt you can convince me that this is not moronic, no matter how hard you try.

Make sure and check out the new “Auction” page at robvandam.com eBay Store - RVD 5STAR STORE: I’m going to try to keep this operative every week with items from my old store, RVD’s 5 Star Comics or even personal items from my house, so keep checking back. Being a collector has made me a bit of a pac-rat too, so I usually have stuff to get rid of.

Last Friday’s episode of RVD TV took place in Tokyo several weeks ago, while I was there for Mr. Inoki’s IGF. On it, I visit a store in Shibuyu, where many wrestlers get their outfits. Cacao has made my shin pads for years and his stuff is top quality. If you’re a wrestler looking to get a kick ass mask or just want to check out his awesome stuff, visit 覆面.com, and bring a translater if possible.

I loved Bill Maher’s movie “Religulous”. You know that I appreciate a good thought provoker, and Bill had many really good points. My bible-thumping friend Eddie, feel free to jump in here, but one of my favorite parts was when Bill questioned the priorities of the Ten Commandments that were chosen. He implied that the first 4 (depends which version you refer to) are all about the correct way to worship God and the list( the other 6 seem to be about the correct way to treat your neighbor) doesn’t include important issues like torturing people and fucking little kids. I will admit that there was an eerie moment or two when the entire theatre was laughing as Bill made fun of worshippers while he stood his position as a non-believer and it reminded me of the stories I’d heard about in Sunday school- about all of Noah’s neighbors laughing at him while he built his boat. The neighbors in that story used to seem so wrong, back when Romper Room was the best show all week.

When we truly don’t know something about ourselves, there’s an uncomfortable void and we feel fear. We like the comfort of filling that void, even if it’s with a false sense of security. It just feels better. It allows us to sleep at night.

“ I know I’m a good person and I’m going to Heaven when I die.”

“There’s no way that the United States Government would do that to its own people.”

“ Of course that man -who I thought was much like me- murdered his family and committed suicide, he was taking steroids.”

“ I don’t eat red meat so I know I’m good.”

Even “ I could nail any bitch in here, but they’re not worth my time.”

We don’t really know but we’ll accept that we do. Why not? Who wants to be afraid?

I don’t mind questioning uncertainties for what they are, and I encourage you to do the same-if for nothing else, a mental workout.

Talk atcha on Wednesday.

Until then, look both ways before crossing the street.

RVD RADIO

RVD RADIO

It’s October everybody. One thing we can count on is that life moves at the speed of time, huh? Halloween is a fun time, when the Untied States somehow comes up with a few extra billion dollars to blow on clothes, make-up and masks so we can look like other people. YAY! I don t mean to come across like a Scrooge every time I bring up the issue of wasting financial resources on holidays and celebrations, but I take a logical perspective on it. Oh sure, birthdays are fun, Christmas brings great joy, and this month-forget about curing cancer or aids, forget about feeding the hungry and who cares about the financial disaster that the country is in...we want to look like Zombies and Vampires! Even if you don’t agree with me, don’t raise my taxes so you can blow more money on completely unnecessary, Big Corporation profiting cash orgies like this. Unless you can prove to me that having our ladies dress up like witches for a night of drinking out of a pumpkin is a survival necessity, I think my opinion will remain the same. I know, you want your kids to have the same joyous, stupid experiences that you had as a kid. Here’s an assignment for you to do with your kids. Let’s total up all the expenses of every silly holiday in the United States, for one full year, big and small- including the Hallmark created Secretary’s Day, Boss’s Day, Sweetest Day and every other Bull Shit Day, and compare that grand total to the 700 billion dollars that Bush is taking out of our pockets. Sorry, maybe that number's like 850 billion now. Aw, what's the difference? Again, let me remind you that we blow over 7 billion to keep the myth of “dangerous marijuana” alive by publishing bullshit lies, prosecuting innocent people and funding an unnecessary agenda with no merit. Here’s a quick story for you.

Charles Lynch was considered a great man for opening up his marijuana dispensary in Morro Bay, California. His store was welcomed by the community, as shown by the May or having his photo taken with Charles in front of his store for the newspaper, the Chamber of Commerce accepting his membership, and over 2,000 patients with serious illnesses coming to him for medicine. Someone didn’t like this. Because the dispensary was granted a Conditional Use Permit and Charles did everything by the book, the local sherriff-let’s just call him A-hole- couldn’t do anything to stop the business by state or local law. Here’s what A-hole did. He brought the DEA in to bust Charles, and had him convicted in Federal Court on August 5th. Here’s the reason I thought you might care- the jurors in that case are not allowed to hear the words “medical marijuana”- since the Feds deny it’s existence, and poor Charles is tried as a common drug dealer!!! No mention of state or local law is considered relevant in this Federal Court Room. Sound right? Fuck no! Watch Drew Carey cover the heart-pulling story of Charles and a local 17 year old boy with bone cancer-who had to get his leg amputated- who the sheriff used to get Charles prosecuted and shut the store down. I’m warning you- it’s a fucked up story Reason TV Documentary Raiding California. As Drew points out, the average time spent in California prison for murder is 20 years. Charles Lynch looks at doing 100 years. Does that sound fair? On Monday, October 6th there will be a “Free Charles Lynch” rally in downtown Los Angeles at the Federal Courthouse at 11:00 pm, showing support for his request for a new trial. Friends of Charles C. Lynch - Home I enjoyed reading the feedback from my last blog, as I always do. There were some interesting comments about Evolution theories. While Sonya and I were at the Bodies exhibit, we were told that people used to have tails and that eventually, people will no longer have the small toe because we tend to survive by the “use it or lose it” motto. Years of skeletal studies led to this conclusion. Did you know that? I didn’t do the research myself, so it’s all just theories to me. Hmmm...that sure would make a good subject for a topical talk radio show... Also among the fans comments, I’ve been getting a lot of questions about whether RVD TV will be on DVD. Of course it will. This is one of my many projects that I have on my plate, all of which take a back seat to my number one priority, but the RVD TV DVD project is moving as we speak and I’ll have news for you soon. Back to Sonya, she’s doing great. We are very thankful that these times we are going through are not more than we can handle, and Sonya is still full of positive energy, loving life every day. She really is awesome.

One thing that I always tell people I will someday do, is host my own radio show. I could probably make that h appen right now, but that's for down the road, when I am ready to report to a regular schedule-you know, like most of you do. It might be way down the road. The thing about blog talk radio is...I can do it when I want, for as long as I want, with no restrictions. So, guess what? Starting next Wednesday, Oct. 8th at 7pm pacific/10 pm east coasters...RVD RADIO!!! I’ll have celebrity guests, take your live phone calls, and talk about the shit that I want to talk about! I will warn you that if you haven’t seen RVD TV, you will get to know a different RVD than you’ve seen on WWE television. This is the real person that my friends, family and RVD TV watchers know. What am I warning you about? You’re reading my blog, right? This is me. From my perspective, I can inspire people outside the ring in a much more meaningful way than from inside the ring.. I can share energy with people in a more direct, insightful way than pretending I hate the guy I’m wrestling. I know you miss that shit, too. That’s why you’re going to call in and let me know how you feel. Feel free to tune in and/or call in from anywhere around the world! The premier episode will feature Chris Mordetsky-the Masterpiece, and Dr. Shawn Staziak. Topics include individualism, censorship, RVD TV, and wrestling. Also be ready to ask Dr. Shawn health and wellness questions for your body and spirit on his talk radio show immediately following RVD RADIO. By the way, my show is going to kick ass! I have no doubt I could host a 4 hour show with no guests except the callers, and I’ve always loved doing radio shows. It’s just fun, and of course now I have my own message to deliver- and it has nothing to do with my enthusiasm to defend a television prop in your town.RVD RADIO Speaking of WWE...From Jim Ross’ site this week: “Just my two cents, but the WWE would be well served to make RVD a richer man and get him back on TV. Van Dam is a unique star and a bona fide main eventer.” AWWW...shucks J.R.! Thanks for noticing. You will be seeing RVD soon on Hulk Hogan’s Celebrity Wrestling. Starting October 18th on the Country Music Channel, this show is going to surprise you. I thought it sounded silly at first, but people are going to really enjoy it and I’m glad I was part of it. Along with Jimmy Hart, Hulkster, Bischoff, Brian Knobbs, and Jason Hervey- Brutus Beefcake put it best at the CCW training camp when he said “It’s been too long since we’ve got to see the 5 Star Frog Splash.” AWWW...shucks Bruti. YouTube - Hulk Hogan - Celebrity Championship Wrestling - Trailer Championship Comedy celebrated it’s one year anniversary recently. This is the comedy promotion that you may have seem pictures of me at. Congrats to Tim Chizmar for keeping the fun going. Check out the comedy and compare it to your schedule and see if they are coming to a comedy house near you. They are if you’re in Los Angeles on October 7th! Check them out at the Hollywood Improv on Melrose for guaranteed laughs MySpace.com - Championship Comedy™ I don’t make it out to the movies very often, but I’m really looking forward to Bill Maher’s movie “ Religulous”, which came out Friday. Religion is a subject I love to debate and it is a perfect example of people’s fear of thinking freely or challenging what they’ve been told.

What? O.J.'s guilty? He seemed like such a nice, kind-hearted killer. Hey- anytime you bring a gun and are ready to use it, let alone pointing it, you are jeopardizing the lives of those around you. I mentally roll my eyes every time I hear someone complaining about doing hard time for any "small" crimes of dealing, stealing, or wheeling around illegally with guns. Guns are so much part of their accepted day that they don't consider the added trouble for having it. If you point a gun at me, it's just as offensive as shooting at me because we didn't agree to trust your trigger finger with my life. Point a gun at someone and you are holding them by their hand as they hang over the edge of a cliff. People don't usually volunteer for that shit and if bad consequences come to the offending party, it is well deserved.

While we were in Spain this summer, we learned of some horrific news via the television. Hourly updates were reported about two little girls who were murdered in a small, innocent town of Weleeka, Oklahoma. Remember that story? SVD grew up in Okemah- the next town over- and used to walk down the very streets as these little girls. This hits way too close to home and although no suspects have been arrested- months later, we will do our part to make sure this tragedy is not soon forgotten. Sonya wants the proceeds of this week’s auction to go towards helping the unfortunate families of those innocent little girls and we hope attention is not taken off of finding the responsible parties and bringing them to justice. This week’s auctioned wrestling outfit has a matching t shirt that SVD wore to make us a set. This is a unique package that we hope will serve the important cause. No Leads in Murder of Oklahoma This is a long enough blog, so anything else can wait. Well, ok...one more thing, before I go.You do know that it’s wrong to vote for one person to run the country because you think she’s hot, and not vote for another person because you think he’s black, right? Just making sure. You should make sure, too.

Talk to you soon.

STAND UP

Greetings everybody!

I hope everyone is enjoying the weather as much as we are here in Cali! It’s been gorgeous! Sonya is doing great. She’s just about half way through with the treatments and, as you can imagine, we are both very anxious for her to be finished! She felt so good that we went to Las Vegas to celebrate our tenth wedding anniversary this week. In case you don’t know Sonya and myself, let me assure you that we are the happiest couple you would know.

Ten years ago I predicted that we could be this happy and I know that it will be the same in another 10 years.. By the way, anyone going to Sin City should plan on checking out my friend GerryMcCambridge at Hooter’s Casino. He is the mentalist, and his show is phenomenal! We are still amazed at what we experienced during his show- even though we’ve seen him before- and we decided this will be a tradition every time we’re there. You’re learning how much I am into synchronicities, and this guy takes it to a whole new level! I’ll be watching the new television series titled The Mentalist” because it’s actually based on Gerry! How cool is that? While in Vegas, we also stopped in and checked out the Bodies exhibition. Yes, you are looking at real human bodies sliced open every which way for you to see- from the insides out, but it’s not that gross, and it’s extremely educational.

Did you know that every drop of blood in your body passes through your heart once every minute? Did you know that while adults have 206 bones, babies have 300?Here’s something I want everyone to read. You’ve heard of stem cell research, right?A stem cell can become any kind of cell and therefore, we can replace body parts, fix diseased organs and even alter glitches in genetic codes. Do you know why many, if not most of the stem cell research haters are so against us utilizing it? Because they are misinformed and mistakenly believe that you have to=2 0abort an infant to get the stem cells. This is absolutely not true. I’ve know this for some time and have had arguments with nay-sayers about it, but the truth is that we should be utilizing the ability to take care of our kind in this fashion. The stem cells can come from a few places, but there is no harm done to anyone to obtain them. Not researching this is counter-productive to our survival. So, the government is trying to put cloned animals on the approved list of grocery products. Do you want to eat cloned chickens? I understand that a lot of people are not found of having it sneaked into their diets, but you have to just-for one second- think of all the starving communities around the world. I bet we wouldn’t find too many under-privileged third world countries turning down a chance to grub on some McClone burgers if we offered it. It’s worth looking into, isn’t it? I’d much rather they put energy into that rather than trying to destroy our universe. Have you been keeping up with these fuckers in Switzerland that have the world’s biggest atom smasher? They want to conduct an “experiment” whereby they crash two protons( hey, is whereby a real word? Hmmm.) into each other in an attempt to r ecreate the Big Bang experience, in hopes of learning more about how we came into existence. The downside, as they fear, is that it could create a black hole that could SUCK IN THE FUCKING PLANET THAT WE LIVE ON! First off, if that did happen, I doubt it would stop t here and second-what if it does work? Where the fuck are you going to put another universe? Haven’t they ever heard that two masses can’t take up the same space at the same time? Somebody please tell them, because they’re trying to do this very soon, as in the next few months! They had some giant gasket blow this week, which I hope slows the process down. I am extremely interested in our creation but I don’t think recreating the Big Bang is the way to do it.

OK, just to inspire some thought to you-I’ll share this. The Big Bang theory never has made sense to me, and I don’t think that I am an advanced form of a single cell. Well, other than the first ten hours or so after conception- in which we are all single cells-thank Bodies! Yes, that makes me a creationist, rather than an evolutionist, if you want to use labels. Before you hit me with “But Rob, there’s proof of human beings from 100,000 years ago”, I don’t buy that either. However, if you want to ridicule my theory that we were created as humans, I look forward to=2 0reading your comments, but I ask in advance-what happened to the missing link? Alien’s fucking took them away? Congrats to Stew in Australia, who won the auctio n of my ring-worn outfit at ROB VAN DAM EVENT WORN GREEN WRESTLING SINGLET RVD WWF - eBay (item 330271164536 end time Sep-21-08 19:29:05 PDT).
Stew, you get to own the outfit that I’ve wrested in many times- all over the world- and your money will be sent to Killer Kowalski’s Memorial Fund. In recent years, when Killer would bring his students to the WWE arenas, he’d tell me “You’re great!” and instruct his students to watch my performances in the ring. He’d tell them that I’m the best on the show and it really made me feel proud. I used to wonder-and still do- if he remembered the skinny 18 year-old kid from Michigan that visited his wrestling school with aspiration back in 1989. It probably wasn’t that rememberable of an experience, and you’ve seen my old pics on my myspace page so you know I’ve changed a bit.

This week we’re auctioning another outfit off eBay Store - RVD 5STAR STORE: to raise proceeds for City of Hope-the cancer research center where Sonya receives treatment. Did some of you guys catch “Stand up for Cancer” last week? It’s not the kind of show that I would have gravitated to before, but we no longer have the luxury of looking the other way. Guess how many women in this country will get cancer...1 out of 3. For men it’s 1 out of 2. Yes, you read that correctly. 1 out of 2 men, and 1 out of every 3 women will get cancer! That’s every one of us, or our family and friends. One American dies every minute of every day from it. Sorry to bum you out, but these are some amazing facts that everyone should know. If I knew more about cancer before, I could have somehow forced a colonoscopy check earlier and caught Sonya’s cancer at an earlier stage. Maybe she wouldn’t even need the chemo. I didn’t fucking know. She didn’t fucking know. You should know. Our sympathy is with original ECW’s Francine , who very recently lost her father and her sister to the big “C”. Send her energy. So, the country is in the worst financial shape it’s been in for a long time.Still, we blow 7 billion dollars each year to fight marijuana, based on bull shit. OK, don’t want to read about that? How many billions did we spend for 4th of July fireworks? What do we spend for New Year’s Eve celebrations? Let’s go straight to the top of celebrations. How much money do you think the 2008 Olympic closing ceremony costs in American dollars? Over 300 million as I understand it. Couldn’t those funds be put towards better survival necessities? You could argue that it brings positive energy and I get that, but really- is it necessary when our country is so broke that “homeless” is the new “chi llin”? Do we really need to know if an African runs faster than a German, for that matter? There are so many ways we piss money away, as a country. We suck at recycling and we don’t utilize alternative fuels and you know why? So the rich can get richer all the way til the end. They might be counting their money soon .

Weeds is over for the season and that sucks... but Heroes is coming! Entourage is awesome and we’ve also been enjoying True Blood. You checking that one out Scotty Riggs? He recommended Dexter which I love, and which will also be here next week.. It sucks big time that we lost Evan Tanner. Every time that guy was in the octagon, he sported a different look-from long hair, to short hair, from clean shaven to full beard. He was very interesting and a hell of a great fighter. I felt his spirituality and he will be missed by the fight industry and a lot of fans. Congratulations to Rashad Evans for that ....BRUTAL... knock out punch he delivered to Chuck Lidell, earning a title match with UFC light-heavyweight champ Forrest Griffin in December. That will be an incredible fight, and it’s20extremely hard to predict a winner on that one! Can you believe that we have almost 40 RVD TV episodes up at robvandam.com?T hat’s a lot of RVD! Remember, if you’re thinking of joining, you will get to view every single episode since the very first one- in any order and any time you want. I’m glad to share with you the real person that I am. All right everyone. You know how little kids need your praise and encouragement and kindness to develop in a positive way? So do adults.

Try being nice to people. That’s my blog.

Late,
RVD

AUCTION

After graduating high school in 1989, I researched wrestling schools all over the country. I called any that I could get the phone numbers for and wrote those that I had addresses for. Some responded, some did not but I knew that I was going to follow my dreams and make it happen, no matter how much work it took. Saving up money from a list of crappy jobs, I booked my very first trip to visit a wrestling school near Boston. I had been talking with Walter “Killer” Kowalski on the phone and he had assured me that if I could get my way from Battle Creek, Michigan to Massachusetts, he’d give me a good “tour” of his school. This would be my first lone experience traveling anywhere, but I saved three hundred and some odd dollars for the flight and I went to pursue my dreams. I knew that Walter had trained Big John Studd, who was a big WWF Superstar, and that impressed me. Thinking back, Walter could not have been more hospitable to me. He picked me up from the airport, took me to my hotel, to the wrestling school, gave me a workout, and even drove me back to the airport. All this for some skinny 18 year old kid with zero to offer the business, or so it seemed. I’ll always remember how I wanted to wear my white tank top to the airport on my way home- you know- to show off my huge 180 pound frame! Walter had me change because he said it looked like I was wearing my underwear and I should dress nicer! After the visit, I went back to Michigan with big plans of saving my money and returning to Boston to pursue my career. It was while I was bagging groceries to earn money that I discovered the Shiek’s school 45 minutes from home. Shiek and Killer Kowalski both had great credentials, which is what I was looking for. Shiek would later tell me that both he and Walter were trained by the same guy- a man named Burt Ruby. The Shiek passed away a few years ago, and Walter has now joined him. These legends are not replaceable and their passing is a great loss to the entire industry.

This week I am auctioning off one of my wrestling outfits and the money raised while go to:

WALTER KILLER KOWALSKI MEMORIAL FUND

C/O CITIZENS BANK

876 MAIN STREET

MALDEN, MA 02148

ROB VAN DAM EVENT WORN WRESTLING DRAGON SINGLET RVD WWF - eBay (item 230289229716 end time Sep-14-08 16:40:10 PDT)

The auction site is new at 5 Star Comics and will continue with a new outfit for charity every week for awhile, and many other items too-including personally owned items and stuff from our old store. eBay Store - RVD 5STAR STORE:

We’re also rotating different items in the store so keep checking back and notice the sale on 8x10’s while you’re there!7

This year at the Comic Con in San Diego, I grabbed a comic called HEADLOCKED that I really enjoyed about the world of Pro Wrestling from the inside. I’ll have to get the follow up books to number one. Here’s a special incentive- Jerry Lawler draws the cover! Here’s some promotional information on the book:

Jerry Lawler To Paint Comic Book Cover For Dramatic Wrestling Series!

WWE Hall of Famer, Jerry “The King” Lawler has signed on to provide a cover for the critically acclaimed comic book series, Headlocked: The Tryout from AAM/Markosia and Visionary Comics Studio. Lawler’s fully painted cover will grace the first issue of the new mini-series, available now for pre-order in Diamond’s Previews and shipping in October. (Diamond Order Code: AUG083662)

Read the press release here:

www. visionarycomics. com

The book is available for pre-order from July 30th to August 27th. Because Headlocked is an independent comic book, it is recommended that you pre-order a copy as not all retailers order indy comics. And being that this issue features Jerry Lawler’s first published comic book work, this will definitely be a highly sought after comic once it hits the shelves. Reserve your copy today at you your local comic book store (www. comicshoplocator. com) or online (www. mailordercomics. com).

As a special promotion to help get people on board with the story, AAM/Markosia is putting the first issue, Headlocked: Work of Art online for people to read absolutely free.

http://www. wowio. com/users/searchresults. asp?nGroupId=[408]

For more information, please visit:

markosia

mike_kingston

Headlocked

So, I’m not sure if everyone understood the incredible occurrence I wrote about last week- how I read Necro Butcher’s blog, felt compelled to help him, wanted to meet and talk to him, and then ended up wrestling him before I made the call? That, friends, is the Law of Attraction and we use it every day, all day long. Sonya and I are both real good at pointing out small and huge “coincidences” that guide us through our lives. I’m often asked about my spiritual studies, and because of this, I am going to share some personal experiences, and this week, you get another big one. Ready?

With the RVD TV hard drive-filled with footage- lost in the mail, we had a situation last week regarding getting our episode up on Friday. Late Wednesday night, the thought hit me to look for this DVD that I had somewhere, of a speech I had given to some kids at a local park. The speech was filmed May 19, 2006 and I had never watched the DVD, but I remembered that someone had given me a copy of it after the event. Following my guidance, I was able to locate the DVD and was very pleased to see that the quality was excellent and would make a great episode for Friday. Thursday, I sent the DVD over night, and Friday my editor Michael Spatola calls to tell me he’s got the DVD and everything’s fine. An hour or two later, a television repair man knocks on my door- I had called him- and comes in to see what’s happening with our tv. The repair man introduces himself, and his assistant Anthony. “Anthony” he goes on to say” was at the Lomita Park when you gave that speech. Do you remember that?”

Unfuckingbelieveable!

The more you pay attention to life’s patterns, such as this, the more this will happen to you. Everyone knows this from experience and it’s the way the energy is shared and the way we grow from it. Having every day full of connections as the world gets smaller and smaller is amazing. The guidance becomes more obvious, and this is what I call living in the magic of life!

Sonya is still doing great! I’m always impressed with her strength and positivity. Week by week we get closer to putting these treatments behind us.

Check out all the RVD TV episode previews on YouTube at YouTube - RVDTV420's Channel

It’s really,really late and I’m signing off.

I leave you with a further attempt to teach you about the society we live in.

Enjoy the following from M.P.P’s( MPP Homepage )official newsletter:

Twenty years ago today, the Drug Enforcement Administration's chief administrative law judge issued a landmark ruling on marijuana — but our government has ignored this historic decision since the day it was issued.

"Marijuana, in its natural form, is one of the safest therapeutically active substances known to man. By any measure of rational analysis marijuana can be safely used within a supervised routine of medical care ... The evidence in this record clearly shows that marijuana has been accepted as capable of relieving the distress of great numbers of very ill people, and doing so with safety under medical supervision. It would be unreasonable, arbitrary and capricious for DEA to continue to stand between those sufferers and the benefits of this substance in light of the evidence in this record."
— DEA Administrative Law Judge Francis L. Young, September 6, 1988

Judge Young had just finished holding extensive hearings, in response to a petition asking for marijuana to be moved from Schedule I of the federal Controlled Substances Act, which bars medical use, to a lower schedule that would permit physician prescriptions. He heard from an array of expert witnesses, generating thousands of pages of documentation.

Young — the chief administrative law judge in the top federal agency responsible for enforcing our drug laws — laid out his findings in a detailed, 69-page ruling, walking readers through the scientific evidence in detail. He concluded that the law didn't just permit moving marijuana to Schedule II, but required it.

The response? Six years after top DEA officials rejected Judge Young's recommendation, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit ruled that the agency did had the right to ignore its own administrative law judge.

And as a result, seriously ill medical marijuana patients continue to be arrested, terrorized, and even have their children taken away — cancer patients living in fear of arrest for using marijuana to quell their nausea and help them keep food down ... AIDS patients using medical marijuana to ease the pain and nausea that too often are side effects of the drugs that keep them alive, terrified of losing their homes if caught ... tens of thousands of people turned into criminals simply for following their own doctors' advice.

Will you help? MPP is systematically working to end this war — state by state, vote by vote. We are making progress every day, but we need your help.

Ready for an over due blog? Here we go.

Here's the Slam Welcome to Cash Cab- the TV game show that takes place right here in my taxi!

Ready for an over due blog? Here we go.

Sonya is doing great. She’s getting her fourth infusion this week , which means she’s just about 33% done with the treatments. She’s happy. She loves her life. She feels good a hell of a lot more than she feels bad. The nausea from the chemo is controlled with cannabis, as are the discomforts and anxieties associated with going through this, not to mention that she hasn’t had the usual problem of loss of appetite. I ask the oncologists why they don’t recommend cannabis to ALL their patients. They admit that it works wonders- which is more than the federal government admits-but they are afraid of backlash from the state if they recommend this medicinal weed. Instead, they prescribe Marinol, which is synthetic THC. Sonya’s doctor tried telling me that Marinol is pure THC, but I know better- so of course, I told him so. Marinol is synthetic THC in a pill form. Maybe it doesn’t have the chlorophyll, but it’s far from pure, like the organic base it starts from. I have taken Marinol, and I can tell you that it is20nothing at all like smoking cannabis and was not an enjoyable experience.. When I first felt the effects of the Marinol that I had taken, I called the person that I had gotten it from-pissed off that I had been mislead, because I was tripping off it. I thought I had gotten something else but it was Marinol all right. That’s what the hospitals can prescribe without fear.. Those poor cancer patients. Even before we knew that Sonya had cancer, we knew that cannabis worked miracles for providing relief her from daily-turned-almost hourly- abdominal cramps. Strange how it takes misfortune like this to add credibility to what I tell you, for those who want to laugh off the issue and pretend it’s about losers wanting to get stoned. The DEA holds the position that marijuana has NO medicinal value and ...I swear this is true...that it is more dangerous than cocaine or meth. DOES ANYBODY ACTUALLY BELIEVE THESE LIES?!?!

I’m guessing that nobody does believe the lies but they are ok with not changing because they are afraid of what could happen if pot was legal. Presently, we have 12 states where doctors recommend marijuana to ease suffering in constant threat of Federal recourse. Feds say pot is a schedule 1 controlled substance( most dangerous with no medicine) while schedule 2 controlled substances( less dangerous and containing some medicinal value) are cocaine and meth. Don’t20believe me? Don’t want to know? Want to pretend that legal cancer stick you’re smoking is safe and not the most addictive drug we know of? Want to believe there are actually reported deaths from marijuana smoking in some medical journals somewhere? Want to believe that spending 7 billion dollars to fight a weed isn’t your problem? Feel ok that more people are arrested for marijuana than murder, rape, and armed robbery combined?People might give me shit for being so vocal about an issue that we’re brain washed into thinking we should be ashamed to talk about, but fuck that. It must be confusing as hell to be a school kid growing up today where you can see truthful documentaries on A&E or catch “American Drug War”( watch it!) on Showtime or You tube, and then you go to school and get lied to. I don’t mind telling the truth. Unless a doctor recommends it, kids should NOT smoke pot but they should know that the strongest financial force behind its prohibition has always been alcohol and tobacco. What? Kids should be sparred the knowledge that our government is based on big business? If you were going to outlaw a drug from a society, what would you base it on? Danger to health? Death toll? Addiction strength? Behavioral issues? Loss of motor skills? We don’t do it that way in America. We don’t do that at all. Compare ou r top two killers with our top two accepted and used drugs. Hmmm.

RVD will also tell you this( that’s me...I just thought I’d refer to myself in third person for dramatic effect), dipping your chicken tenders in your barbecue sauce while driving is more dangerous than talking on a fucking cell phone. On the governor’s desk here in California is a bill to out law texting while driving, one month after banning talking on the cell phone. What else can I say, but “DUH!” Don’t you think you should’ve thought of that first? So we got new phones because our crappy old ones didn’t have a speaker and the headset jack is flawed in that model, and now I’m driving with my phone in hand wondering if I’m allowed to fucking dial the number if texting is banned or will that be operating outside the law? I know, as you said Diane, we always still have the option to do whatever we want anyway, but who wants to hide because we’re doing something we’re told not to? It’s all about control..

By the way, I have an opportunity to get involved with something I know very little about, and you can help me. Does insurance for ipods and iphones seem like a good idea? I know that my friends drop or lose their shit ALL the time! Check out this deal and send me back some feedback if you can. Let me know if I want to have my face telling people to sign up. Thank you in advance for that. Digital Caboodle - Your Smartphone Insurance Provider! Do you guys realize what a HUGE business the prison industry is? Private companies like GEO corp build and run prisons all over and their stock is bought and sold on the market based on how many prisoners they have. Just in case you never thought about whether nonviolent “drug offenders” should be locked up in a cage , instead of, say, given therapy depending on their issues, think about it now. Just for a second. For all the dangerous murderers who want their jails back. Congratulations to Bruce Jingles- a very funny friend- for his upcoming Showtime taping on September 18th at San Manuel Casino. You’ll be able to see Bruce on an upcoming RVD TV Friends in High Places pretty soon.MySpace.com - BRUCE JINGLES - UPLAND - www.myspace.com/brucejinglesWow, I went way off track there didn’t I? You gotta stay on your toes when you’re reading this. So, I went to Spain a few more times to wrestle for NWE. I like what they have going over there. I hope they are able to make an impact. I also recently wrestled in Japan for Inoki’s IGF. I emerged victorious from a 3-way - anything-seemed-to-count-match with Kendo Kashin and Necro Butcher. It’s been all good in the ring but I am still not looking for promoters to contact me about bookings. I’ve just been doing a very few select bookings with reputable, respectable companies and I’m planning on staying home to take care of Sonya for awhile. I get asked to share spiritual insight a lot. I’m sure personal guidance is in my future on a bigger level but I usually don’t have time to respond to connection requests. We’re all connected. Believe that. Anyway, ready for a story of how the fucking Law of Attraction is undeniable? About a month or so ago, maybe longer, a fan felt compelled to forward me a blog written by a wrestler about this crazy situation in Pennsylvania. I was incredibly touched by the story of how this indy wrestler I didn’t know has been fucked over so hard by the corrupt system.Turns out-as soon as his wife’s water broke to give birth to their first baby, the assholes at the hospital told them that , because the mom had marijuana in her system, they had called the child services and were going to take their baby. Not an empty threat- they took the fucking baby! Over weed! Does that sound cool to you? This is done-not based on evidence of danger, but because the people in control can’t get a patent for a weed. By the way,=2 0I wouldn’t recommend preggers to smoke anything. I’m certainly no doctor but if I was I wouldn’t take your fucking kid from you! I’m going to post the wrestler’s blog separate from this one, because this is a long blog already- but you can read all about his tragic injustice here.

So, I read the guy’s blog and I want to help the guy so much that I tell Rob Kampia, head of M.P.P. (MPP Homepage )and my hero, about the situation and we both want to get this situation some exposure. I plan on getting ahold of this guy to tell him we are totally behind him.Anyway, I have to travel and things are set aside. A few days ago, the morning of the matches-at the Tokyo Dome Hotel, I get on the elevator and ride it down with another American. After talking to him for a few seconds I realized that this guy I’m talking to is the guy that wrote that blog! And I was going to wrestle him that night at the Sumo Palace...in Japan! I put two and two together and remembered reading the name Necro Butcher a month before! Amazing, how life brought us together, right?

First off, he has his baby back now so congrats to him and his wife. They are grateful but still not afraid to speak out about their compassionless experience.Second, I don’t know how anyone can blow off the meeting as a coincidence. I see these off chance occurrences as direct evidence of a process science doesn’t tell us about. Sonya and I both have day after day full of coincidences, as do my spiritual brothers. I totally believe that living in the magic of life like this is truly meant for everybody. I find myself wondering if life is a result of thoughts or do we get insight to what’s on it’s way? It’s like the chicken or the egg argument. But don’t argue about it. Be peaceful.

While you’re thinking about that, check out me body slamming Danny Bonaduce by clicking hereYouTube - Danny Bonaduce gets body slam from Rob Van Dam. We met on the set of Hulk Hogan’s Celebrity Wrestling. Yes, you might see me make an appearance on one of the episodes when it airs this fall. People are going to have fun enjoying this show. That’s about long enough. Don’tcha think?I will make a strong effort to update my blogs more frequently and in the mean time, I leave you with this quote from the legendary Jack Herer.“ Nobody ever died from marijuana...unless they were shot by a cop.”

Wait, that was kind of heavy to leave on. I’m definitely not a cop-hater. I just don’t believe in replacing morals with the honor of “just doing your job”. How about this? Only 2 episodes of Weed left but coming very soon...Entourage is back on HBO!That’s better. And Dexter! And Californication!Enjoy life. Oh, and use this while you’re enjoying life...I heard it on Boondocks today.“It’s only as valuable as what you’ re willing to give for it.”Nice.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://rvdtv.blogspot.com/2008/08/ready-for-over-due-blog-here-we-go.html' title='Ready for an over due blog? Read on, and search your feelings.
RVD
Subject:

US GOVERNMENT TAKES PRO WRESTLERS BABY BECAUSE OF CANNABIS

Body:

Hey Rob, Hope everything is going well for you and Sonya.

I dont want to bum you out dude but you have always been strongly pro-cannabis and I wanted to share with you this true horror-story, what the US Government did too a fellow pro wrestler of yours ROH star Necro Butcher because of weed.

FROM NECRO BUTCHER's BLOG:

I'm tired of explaining this over and over again to my friends, so here it is, out here, for all to read. On June 11, my beautiful wife, Virginia gave birth to a healthy beautiful , and as I've learned, very hungry baby girl. Which we named Amy Virginia. Amy is my mother's name. She went into the hospital on the 10th. On the morning of the 11th, our doctor informed us that he wanted to speed things along and he wanted to break her water. We agreed to this and it was done, then with the next breath out of his mouth, he told us that my wife had marijuana in her urine and the state was taking the baby from us. They had nothing on me, nothing on my family, no history of drug offenses on any of us, just one failed urinalysis. So my 22 year old wife then laid in labor for 10 hours knowing full well her bay would be taken when it came. And taken it was. Taken from her arms on the 12th, when I wasnt even there, my wife was alone went she had to go through this. We were told to be patient and keep our heads up, it would just take time, no one knew would tell us how long though. We were told our "hearing" would be the following monday morning. Now keep in mind, this was thursday night, with the next day being Flag Day, with all government offices and most businesses closed. So we could call no one for help, nothing, we had no money for a private attorney. We had no idea what to do and no one was there to help. Our only hope to keep our newborn daughter out of foster care was to have my mother petition for custody while my wife completed whatever programs they told her to. The monsters at Lawrence County Child Youth Services told us the only was we could do that was if my wife moved out of the house .Yeah, thats right, to keep my daughter I had to watch my wife move out. We met our court appointed attorney 5 minutes before the "hearing". At this "hearing" we were not allowed to speak, not allowed to enter any plea, not allowed to explain our situation or our feelings, nothing, we just had to sit there while they they passed judgment on my entire family. So now me and my mom are raising this little girl, while my wife sits alone in a near empty house on the other side of town. My mom is the head nurse of a critical care unit, so when she misses work, the unit is understaffed and sick people dont get the care they need. Since the 12th, my wife has been "allowed" to see her baby daughter twice, for 1 hour each time. And the bills are piling up, Im now paying rent on a house for my outlaw wife to live in and cant help my mom out as much and shes missing work to care for my baby, so her bills are piling up. And oh yeah, the nazis at CYS cancelled BOTH my daughter and my wife from Medicaid, since, when my mom actually does work, she makes too much to qualify. So now no insurance for either of them. So we wait, and through all of this, we still have no case worker, no timeline, nothing, just a family thats falling apart and nobody cares. I spend every minute of everyday torn between visiting my wife or my daughter, and choosing my wife or actually wrestling means leaving my mom with the baby. At least I get a choice, my wife doesnt. She would violate a "court" order and lose her parental rights for unapproved visits. And were both subject to random drug tests now. Somehow Im sucked into this nightmare too, so I can drink all the fucking beer I can, be a fat, lazy, drunk and thats cool, but God fucking forbid I smoke a joint or I will be in the same boat as my wife. The ACLU has hooked us up with a lawyer and we meet with her on tuesday, so stay tuned. In the meantime, to all our friends, there plenty of smoking behind us, and plenty ahead, but in the meantime, were on the shelf.

Keep it lit for us.

Yay! Pollution!

Happy 4th of July everyone! Feeling independent? Maybe spiritually?

First off, Sonya is doing great. She recently had surgery to get a catheter implant for chemo therapy treatment, which we’ll be starting next week. It takes a lot of mental strength to subject oneself to 6 months of taking this poison, especially when you’re told that the cancer has been removed.. The thing is-they give you a 50% chance of it returning when it’s stage 3. That’s a flip of a coin, and a gamble we’re not willing to take. Every two weeks she’ll be hooked up to a machine for two days at a time.

In the mean time, she’s incredibly awesome!

Sonya and I took a trip to the Canary Islands for a pre-chemo get-away. I took a booking to get us there and I wrestled 4 matches in four days. I have to admit, being back in the ring didn’t suck. I’m not ready to live full-time out on the road again, but I’d like to see the NWE take off. Along with myself, the talent consisted of Rikishi, Orlando Jordan, Chris Masters, John Heidenreich, Ultimo Dragon, Juvetude, Vito and many wrestlers you might not know, with many more stars on the way. After I left for home, Raven and Booker T hit the shows. NWE sold out huge WWE size arenas and that along with the first class treatment made me forget the things I don’t enjoy about the business.

This week we flipped our calendars to July, which means here in California, it is officially illegal to talk on your cell phone while driving- unless you have a hands-free situation like a head set or speaker option. Now, this is something that everybody probably agrees “Sure, that seems like a good idea.” I know it bothers me to see some 16 year-old driver turning across traffic at a busy intersection with a phone stuck to the side of their head. Even more, sometimes I’m ashamed at being that idiot myself. Have cell phones caused a lot of traffic accidents? I don’t know, but let’s think this through, as long as we’re giving up more freedom. We should probably outlaw eating while driving, too. Wouldn’t that be at least just as dangerous? In fact, let’s also ban putting on chap stick or lip stick, definitely flossing, and probably smoking while we’re driving. Those of you who are saying “ None of those sound like good ideas anyway-except maybe smoking” let me remind you that we’re not talking about making judgement calls, we’re giving up the right to do just that. In fact, I was driving the day the law went into effect and wondered if I would be breaking the law by plugging one ear with my finger. I drove around for a few minutes with my one finger plugging my ear and I felt extremely shady, like I must look suspicious as fuck! It shouldn’t be illegal to stick a finger in your ear, should it? Can they take that away from you? I guess they can, since extending your middle finger is prohibited. Believe it or not, I heard you can tape a phone to your head! I’m just imagining all the new gimmicks that the phone companies can cash in on now to capitalize on this situation. That means big money for big businesses, and they keep us under their control.

The gays think they have freedom, now that California is allowing them to get married. If they have to find out what medical marijuana patients find out all the time...the Federal Government doesn’t give a shit about State laws. How’d you like to be enjoying life with your spouse to find out one day that Big Brother doesn’t accept your commitment so they decide you’re single all of a sudden? At what point is it none of their fucking business? When we blindly accept that things are either legal or against the law and use that knowledge to base morality on, we are disconnected from reality.

I’m sure you’ve heard that sodomy is against the law in many official books, right? You might have even giggled about it. Have you ever thought about the condoned and expected anal raping that would occur if you were locked up for doing the same thing without their control?

On the way back from Spain I couldn’t help but notice the junkies, all over the airports. In the rest rooms at the departure terminal, they’re getting their last fix before boarding an international flight. In the arrival rest rooms, they’re at it again because they can’t wait until they get outside at the bottom of the escalator. They know it’s against Federal law but somehow it’s ok. Outside, as we walked from one terminal to another, we literally have to zig-zag to avoid the bodies all over the side walk using their drugs. Any hope of catching some fresh air is always quickly put to rest as soon as those doors to the outside open and the cigarette smoke rolls in. Mmmmm. Yummy! Doesn’t reading this make you want a delicious roll of cyanide and formaldehyde right now? Why shouldn’t you? As long as you’re standing near 4 1/2 other people, they have just as much of a chance as you do of dying from the smoke. Besides, you can’t stop because you’re addicted, so what does anybody expect?

On a recent episode of RVD TV, I discuss the power of the mind with Warrior and Chris Nowinski. My position is that there is no mental addiction. It’s just an excuse for a weak mind. I realize this may inspire some argumentative feedback from some of you, which is fine, but I doubt that you will change my opinion. Physical addiction I can understand, although I do believe the power of the mind can over come it. If your body chemistry is altered and becomes dependent on a foreign chemical to keep in balance, and the chemical is removed I can understand where some physical “freaking out” can occur. Still, a strong mind has all the answers within it. Most people that smoke cigarettes say that they don’t want to, but the addiction is stronger than their will power. I don’t mean to offend, but I call bull shit. It’s socially acceptable to be addicted to something so you have an excuse for being “out of control” of the situation. It’s still bull shit. They’ll tell you you’re a victim. You have a disease. That’s why you cheat on your spouse, you’re addicted to sex! Don’t blame yourself! You’re addicted to sabotaging good things in your life, you poor, helpless victim. Personally, I have gone months and months of doing massive amounts of recreational drug use and still quit on a dime when I wanted to. I have gone more weeks then a calendar year consuming cannabis 24-7 and still had no problem taking time off when I decided. It’s in the mind. We have a good friend who insisted for years that she couldn’t quit smoking and was willing to “try” anything. She just didn’t want to quit. If you light up, it’s because you want to. I have friends who tell me they enjoy smoking cigarettes and have no desire to quit. I can respect that. I don’t care what anyone else tells you-you are in control. The minute our friend that couldn’t stop smoking found out she was pregnant she stopped smoking-just like that. They will tell you that you are addicted so they can control you and you’ll let them because it’s easy. It’s big business. Get sent to rehab for any other issues and find out how quickly they will get you hooked on cigarettes while you’re there. In rehab! You will get hooked on nicotine, the most “addictive” drug we know of... in rehab...while you’re sent there to find out why you enjoy porn so much.

Are you comfortable with them in control of your life like that? I’m not.

So, back to Warrior. You may have heard some rumors about me training him recently. Here’s the scoop. He called with that request, and I was honored to get the call. He hadn’t been in the ring for ten years or so and he said he would be honored if I had the time to help him out. Because of our situation with Sonya’s health, I was only able to get in the ring with Warrior one day. We didn’t do a lot- mostly running the ropes, locking up and talking about what made Warrior so exciting to watch back in the day. I was ready for my outrageous Warrior moment. I had cameras standing by ready to capture the craziness that everyone has come to expect but instead, I spent the day with a hell of a cool guy that I shared a lot with. He showed me nothing but respect and appreciation, and at the end of the day I was amazed by how much we had in common. You may have seen the video I recorded of me imitating the Warrior on you tube.. I knew that people would see right away that he has a sense of humor, which is probably way different than your previous opinion. I have had nothing but good things to say about Warrior from my experiences with him and if I told you something bad, I’d be lying-which I don’t do. I remember watching that WWE video on him just like you did, and it just made me remember how exciting and intense he was. I listened to the WWE’ers claiming that Warrior was just detached from reality and couldn’t do a promo to save his life and I just thought “ How could that be true? I used to buy tickets to go see this guy so I know what he did worked!” It’s cool how things come around full circle and I’m glad we connected on a professional and even more so, a personal level.

Send your positive vibes to our boy Justin “the Insane One” McCully. He’s been in fight mode for awhile in preparation for his big return to the UFC octagon on Saturday, the 5th. His match with Gabriel Gonzaga isn’t scheduled to be broadcast, but from what I understand, if the fights run short on time we might still see the match so keep your fingers crossed for some quick knock-outs! Kick ass JMC!

While in Spain, I finished Brett Hart’s autobiography. Damn good book! Ever time I picked it up, I wanted to keep turning the pages to see what was happening. I had a hard time pulling away from it and when it was all over, I feel like I understand a friend much more. I’m amazed at how much I have in common with Brett, seeing as how he comes from a family of wrestling and I just followed a far-fetched dream to get into the business. He prides himself on things that I pride myself on and shares the same views on specific wrestlers, wrestling moves, and the ingenuousness of the whole industry, not to mention life. No wonder we get along so well. We sat in the same dressing rooms at different times and saw the same shadiness. Read his book.

I am planning to be at Comic Con in San Diego. I told some people that I wouldn’t be there but plans have changed so check the “news” page on this site at the end of the week to get the signing schedule.

Damn, this blog is long. Guess I should hit it more often. In the mean time, let me kick this out of my head. Did Santa deliver my Weeble Wobble Playset? Did the Son of a Virgin walk on water? Did an inventor attract lightning with a key tied to a kite? I have no fucking idea. It all sounds worth questioning, though- and if you wonder about shit like this or anything else that you feel you’re not supposed to think about...I don’t hate you. I think you’re fine.

Bye everybody. Live as if it was your birth right to enjoy each day to its fullest- because it is.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://rvdtv.blogspot.com/2008/07/yay-pollution.html' title='Yay! Hope the weekend's great for you.

Technical difficulties prevented Friday's show from being posted on time, but relax. The RVD TV editor is replacing his crashed hard drive and everything will continue smoothly. I expect the show to be up tonight ( Sunday) and it goes without saying, but I'll say it anyway-sorry for the inconvenience. That's coming, and of course a new episode on Friday.

RVD 5 Star Comic ( episode # 21) is the footage you've been waiting to see from my stand-up comedy shows. To date, I've been up on stage 4 times and this show has highlights from all of them, including footage of Jay Mohr, Eric Bischoff, Justin McCully, Daniel Puder and more. I'll get back on stage when the energy is right but we've been plenty busy at the Casa de Van Dam.

Sonya is feeling good and has really appreciated all the support. We'll be finding out more information about her chemo treatments at the beginning of June.
I do have a lot of other stuff going on but it all takes a back seat at the moment. Fill you in on that later.

Keep watching RVD TV for some awesome episodes that I've already got waiting to show and the kick ass episodes I'll continue to film.

You want Warrior? We got Warrior. Believe it or not...we got him in Friends in High Places! With head of Sports Legacy Institute Chris Nowinski!

Also coming is footage from the comic conventions, the Portugal trip, Jack Herer, Shelly Martinez, and much, much more that I hope you enjoy as much as I do!

Have an outstanding day!
RVD

Here's the Deal

Stage 3 colon cancer. Laparoscopic surgery to remove it. 6 months of chemo ahead of us. You know what she tells me?

She says she’d rather be going through this than a divorce with me!
Just to let me know how good of a job I’m doing as a husband. She’s so awesome!
I’ve always said this, but- what an amazing wife!

The incredible strength we have as a team provides us with great power to cope with great and unpleasant times. Our love for life is filled with wonderful memories and an unstoppable desire to have many more. We are grateful for our past and our future, so we’ll do what we have to today to keep us healthy for tomorrow.
As you know, this is all new to us. What should we expect from the chemo treatments? I’ve heard of people getting treatments in the morning and going straight to work. I’ve also heard of it wearing people down. I understand they’ve come a long way in recent years, but what should we expect? Is traveling in between rounds an option? I’m asking you.

Sonya and I probably won’t know much more about what we’ll be going through until June, so we’ll keep you posted, as always.
We appreciate the support coming in-from prayers to cards to even running in her name T.?

You fans rock. We want everyone to know that Sonya’s surgery went well and she’s back home recovering now. I’ve had her home for one week and after a few miserable days, she’s making her comeback. The misery was due to what they called “post-operation illis”. After the surgery to remove part of her colon and attach the loose ends, her body took a few extra days to swell intensely, which caused bruising and a lot of discomfort- to say the least. We got her checked out and soon afterwards, swelling went down and everything has been getting better day by day. At this point, we don’t know what kind of therapy treatment we’re facing but whatever they say to do-we’ll do it. We really appreciate all the support that you have been sending our way. The love, prayers, and positive energy made it all the way, as Sonya and I read every comment on my Myspace together and received the attended lift.

All the phone calls, texts, emails and other genuine, straight hearted messages mean a lot to both of us.

Now let me grab Sonya for you. Still, it may not be fun to be put to the test. It may be quite unpleasant.
After thinking of several ways to put this, I decided to give it to you straight- just like we got it. After months of chasing down the origin of stomach cramps, we got the news that Sonya has cancer in her colon. Obviously, this was not something we wanted to hear, and were not at all prepared for it. This is the kind of thing that we hear about happening to other people. Us? Really?

I’m sure that a lot of you realize that cancer is way too common. In fact, I know that many of you are all too familiar with what we are experiencing.

This is very personal and I understand if you would choose to keep it on the down-low. One of Sonya’s first thoughts was that if she could have colon cancer (being a 32 year old, lean, active, and healthy eating female that barely hits 3 digits on the weight scale), “We need to tell everyone it could be them!”

Months of testing showed nothing of this nature. The blood tests and everything else they did could not detect the cancer until the dreaded colonoscopy. Sonya wants everyone to know that you HAVE to get checked. We found a huge research center where we are getting this taken care of. They have a lot of information about the subject, in case you might be searching City of Hope.

Keep in mind, this is curable and Sonya has surgery scheduled for the end of the week to get this thing taken out. We’re totally kicking its ass. We got this. We know that we have a lot of people praying and sending positive energy, and we appreciate it. Keep it up. And don’t tell Sonya’s dad, if you know him. We’ll do it when the time is right.

This will soon be a thing of the past. Sonya is amazingly strong and ready to fight.

This will be a squash match!

Anyone wondering what we’re up to...it’s this. Nothing else matters.

I’ll update you soon.

Take care of yourselves.
Enjoy life.
RVD

I'M BACK!

Hello readers. I hope everyone is well. Let’s catch up.

SVD and I had a great time in Portugal. I wrestled Raven on Friday in Santa de Maria Feira, frog splashed Joey Mercury in Elvas, and then we spent a couple of extra days in Lisboa to absorb its beauty. What a gorgeous place this was! Two highlights that stand out from the trip for me follow. In Elvas, everyone was hungry so we all left the arena before the show and traveled across the border to SPAIN to crowd a McDonalds counter with McWrestler Meals. Good thing we had the camera, right RVD TV watchers? The second memorable moment for me was the worst bump of the tour by far, and it was in my hotel room shower. My feet slipped out from under me, the curtain and curtain rod came down, I nailed my head on the sink counter on the way down and the shower hose broke and flooded the bathroom. It was pretty awesome. I’m just glad SVD didn’t have the camera on when she opened the door to see me lying in the water, covered in soap! I recommend visiting Portugal to anyone. Just be careful in the shower.
The weekend we were gone, Ron Slinker passed away. Ron gave me the professional name- that stuck with me throughout my career- back in 19991. Ron also got me my job with Bill Watts in WCW in 1992, and when Bill refused to let me use my professional name, Ron came up with Robby V. Of course, if you watched the show back then, you saw Robbie V, or Robbie Vee, or -well, who noticed anyway. I met Ron in Tennessee when I wrestled for USWA when he was there to see his son-in-law, Tex Slazenger. He was the first promoter to tell me that I was going to be a big star. Part of paying my dues involved driving down to Florida to sleep on this guy’s floor when I wasn’t even old enough to drink. You’ll read all about it some day in the big book. For more info=Ron Slinker - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Wow! From what I understand, WWE has added a concussion management program. I think that’s great news. I have recently joined Chris Nowinski’s program to learn and help educate with proper information about head trauma. Concussions have always been a pig part of my job, and I’ve had dozens of them myself. I laughed at them. Now, Chris has told me about common traits among different athletes who have suffered brain damage, and I find the whole subject very interesting. I have friends who live with “blanking out” and headaches and just like me, consider it part of the job. Let’s look into this more. WWE is apparently going to reexamine the wrestlers on a regular 6-month basis to test their memory, cognitive skills, and reaction time along with other appropriate measures. This is excellent. I wish similar tests were used to determine the cause and effect of drugs on people with different variables but of course, that would give us too much truth! For more info click here The Sports Legacy Institute -

Speaking of truth, I met with the legendary Jack Herer last week, which was way cool! Jack is responsible for exposing the truths about the corrupt war on pot with his book “The Emperor Wears No Clothes”, as well as “Grass” before that. “The Emperor” should be read in every public school, but it is not conducive to the governments plans. This was where I first learned that marijuana is basically non-toxic and no one’s ever died from it being in their body. I also learned here that cigarettes kill over 450,000 Americans a year but the government has huge interest in Alcohol, Tobacco, Pharmacy, Paper, Plastics, Oil and other enormous conglomerate businesses that would suffer if Cannabis was utilized the way it was intended. In the last ten years I’ve done a lot of research that-along with common sense- supports the truths I read in Jack’s book. The other day, he taught me a couple new things. He said that Budweiser sponsored the Reefer Madness movie campaign in 1937 and has paid for 50% of the governments war on pot since then, until around 1991 when the pharmaceuticals took over the responsibility. Hmm..makes sense, since I know what the war’s really bout. He also said that Hemp was used for 80% of everything until about 100 years ago. Not just the lumber in the walls, but the primer, the paint, the carpet, everything! Welcome to Jack Herer's Home on the Web

I often get asked why I speak so freely. How can I not? I reach a lot of people and I have a conscious!I recently watched nicotine junkies taking their last sucks before the International flight like they were baby puppies getting milk from their mother. It was pathetic, but I’ll fight for your right to make stupid decisions, because it is your right.

Our government outlawed hemp by prohibiting “marijuana” and enforces the position that it is a dangerous, addictive drug with no medicinal properties. They arrest and kill people to enforce this and at the same time they give it to patients of theirs, to help with their ailments. Why do I speak out?

People consider murder an option to make their lives better, and people think everyone should own a gun! The gift of life has always been over looked and often considered surplus when power comes from destroying it.

Where’s the respect for life lost? Let’s see.If you’re attracted to the same sex you’re likely brought up to believe God hates you. In fact, if you’re Christian or Catholic or whatever, there’s a pretty good chance that you are taught that God does not accept you. Kill people that don’t share your beliefs or live on the same piece of land, and you may be seen as a hero. Die from fighting against people from other countries and your life will be honored from the perspective of the U.S.government. As long as it’s part of their agenda. We live in a world where people throw cigarette butts on the ground and are convinced that my choice to use “fucking” instead of their acceptable “fricking” or “frigging” or “freaking” has done them harm. People look at Global Warming like people used to react to claims that the world wasn’t flat.I live in a world where a fantastic story book is respected as the exact word of God, and murderers are expected to tell the truth in court because they swore on the Bible.

Some priests fuck little boys and others are looked up to as if they have God’s ear before he goes to bed every night.Policemen murder their wives as if they were gang-banging target practice, but hide the body instead of fabricating evidence.
With past Presidential scandals and constant hypocritical assholes getting busted in politics all the time, how can we not acknowledge that we are -and always have been- lied to?

“A foolish man simply accepts what it is that he thinks, while a wise man thinks about what it is that he accepts.” This came from a story I read recently by Alex Shane, a man who shares my message. HHH Black Magic I live in a world where irresponsible junkies that are hooked on drugs are thrown into a cage like criminals. Our rights as human beings to freedom are over looked for big business.

Good friend and very smart writer - Jimmy Palmiotti- quoted Abe Lincoln in a book I read that really stuck in my mind. “Those who would deny freedom to others, deserve it not for themselves, and under a just god, can not retain in for long.” MySpace.com - jimmy palmiotti -

No doubt I make myself a target by speaking so freely, but we , as people, have a right to seek the truth. Now, here’s the reason that most people don’t understand my willingness to speak the truth, even when facing undesirable consequences. Are you ready for this? I have integrity.“Having integrity means I’d rather go down for what I believe in, then go up for what I do not.”

That’s an RVD original. Now check yourself.

YOU'RE EXCEPTIONAL

Hello and Happy Holiday everybody! Hope all is well. For St. Patrick's Day this year, how about we all think green and do something friendly for the Earth? Maybe throw that empty bottle in the recycle bin instead of the trash, just once. Maybe, just for the holiday, you can refrain from throwing that cigarette butt down on the ground, and actually throw it away! Yay! St. Patty's Day!
Watch Lil' Bush! It's very, very funny.

I had fun at the Wonder Con in San Fran, and then at the BTW convention the following week. I actually got to mark out a bit hanging with the stars of the 80's I used to watch. The Hart Foundation, Honky Tonk Man ( He can sing and he can dance), Harley Race, and Damn- it was so good to see Dr. Death Steve Williams!
Thanks to everyone I saw at Wizard World Convention last weekend in Los Angeles! It was a good show, a great time and we got some awesome footage for RVD TV with friends Mic Foley, Ray Parks, Daniel Logan, Scott Schwartz, Fat Momma and other celebrities, and of course, the extreme fans of California!

As you know, I'm not traveling too far these days. That fact remains, in spite of all the offers I get every day to wrestle or sign autographs in different parts of the world. Having said that, there is something on the horizon I should tell you about. At the end of March, I am scheduled to pull my suitcase out of the closet yet again, and this time...I need to pack my singlet and boots! Ready for this? March 28 and 29, RVD returns to the ring...in Portugal!!! Since you saw my last match in WWE in June, I have only wrestled twice. You saw the blink-of-an-eye return on the RAW 15 year anniversary show. My match with Booker T in PWA is this week's episode for RVD TV. Now, I'm getting ready for my return, and my first time in Portugal. Can't make it to the show? That's all right, RVD TV members, you know I'll bring it to you. I have been having a blast with RVD TV and from the feedback of the members, so has everyone else. I don't know how many times we've filmed an episode and said "This is our best one yet!" but it does keep getting better and better. Through RVD TV, fans have been inspired to grow, think outside the box, question authority, be positive, take care of their health-physical, mental and spiritual, improve their relationships, and enjoy life! I feel like it's serving it's purpose!

While some negative people will say I claim to be perfect, I claim the opposite. I know that I like me better today than I did last year, and I know that this pattern will continue as I go through life, learning and growing inside. I urge others to follow this way of life, but not to agree with everything I say or do. That's your choice, which I encourage you to realize, and to own. No one can take that from you. It's always about making sensible choices.

Here's something I run into a lot, when using my personal experiences to draw from as examples for motivation. Well, you're an exception. Now, I realize that most of you have not been World Champions, but some of you have been champions of different passions. Some of you never wanted to be. Whatever the case, you are exceptional, too. There's never been another you before. Unless they specifically surveyed you for the statistics, they aren't talking about you specifically when they give the intimidating numbers. When I was 18, I entered a contest to win a t-shirt at the Battle Creek Toughman Contest. Out of every one in the arena, who ever punched the target the hardest got the shirt at the end of the night. My "why not" attitude justified a chance, and although the odds were against me, I still have that t-shirt. Somewhere. Anyway, I trained hard, and entered the next contest in Kalamazoo 3 months later. Against all odds, I made it to the main event and took runner-up to a seasoned veteran of the ring. That was me though, and I'm an exception, right? I dreamed of being a professional wrestler, as a child, and made it happen. Yeah, but-I'm an exception. I wanted to be different than all the other wrestlers and stand out instead of copying someone else. Yeah, but-I'm an exception. I was a huge fan of martial arts movies and wanted to be in them. I found out how to make it happen. I'm an exception. Okay, so maybe I just have mad fighting skills. Is that it?

I love being married, even after ten years, and miss my wife when we're apart. Yeah, but-I'm an exception. If you keep telling yourself that- maybe you'll feel better about yourself-falling short of your dreams. Hey-I'm all for living the exciting life so you guys can live through me, but I'm a happy person and I want everyone else to be happy too so we can all enjoy the gift of life. Do you remember when the WWE sent the boys to Iraq for that "volunteer" trip that I didn't go on a few years ago? So many of my peers didn't want to go but didn't have the ball to say so. They felt like they wouldn't get away with saying "no" to the boss and decided they respected me for doing it. Guess what they told themselves? RVD's an exception.
I told them what I'm telling you. Anyone can do the things that they think only I can! It's called "going for it".

You can sit in the audience and talk about how good you'd do on stage, or you can go for it, and show us. Usually, when you think about the worst that could happen, it's not enough to keep you from going for it. The first time I remember being "exceptional" was when my second grade teacher wanted my parents to consider putting me in an advanced class and to skip third grade. Didn't know that one, did you? Academically gifted, was what she said. There's where that sense comes in to play to make good choices. You know what that tells me? I've been very good at paying attention- to school, to life, and to people. THEY may have you feeling like dreams aren't worth chasing, but I know better. It's your life. Don't let anyone make you feel otherwise. So, you just don't feel like it's worth it? Remember that commercial "Someone's going to win the lottery- Why not you?" I'll second that question, and there are a lot of rich lottery winners that will agree.
Don't sell yourself short. Really. Who wants to be another statistic?

Off to the Wonder Con!

Greetings everybody! I hope your energy is up!

Are you guys following Kimbo Slice? I have been for awhile and his fight with Tank Abbott went just about as I expected. Damn, Kimbo hits hard! Look him up on youtube and watch the street fights that made him famous and got him to where he is in MMA!
Congratulations to Frank Mir. That is one hell of an expert and master of his style! I'm even more impressed with him after seeing that beautiful knee bar he executed on Brock. Everyone seems to be saying the same thing about that fight. Brock was completely dominating and out of no where, it seems, he was caught in the submission.

Let's not forget, with no disrespect to Mir, the referee made a shitty, shitty call by standing both guys up and even taking a point away from Brock for striking to the back of the head. Brock did, while Frank was rolling around, but that happens every fight and you never see a point being taken away, especially with no warning! I bet many of you are remembering now, huh? I'm just saying that we will never know what would have happened if that horrible call wasn't made when Brock was pounding on him.

Did you guys catch Paul Heyman's new web site show "Heyman Hustle"? From what he says, he wants to show the real side of celebrities who are known for their game face. Sounds a lot like the inspiration behind RVD TV from that perspective. Anyways, it's Paul-so check it out! The Heyman Hustle

By the way, the response to RVD TV has been awesome! The members support started out great and has grown continually , which rocks because I've been having a lot of fun with this project. You'll see a lot more of Justin McCully, as he’s so behind RVD TV he's all over it- planning, filming, directing, editing and kicking ass, with a LOT of laughs.

You might have seen the article I wrote in this month's Cannabis Culture Magazine. This book is exactly the right place and the right time to tell it like it is. I do have something to share with you, to help you understand the "gateway " theory. Masturbation leads to rape. Ten out of ten rapists were asked if they tried masturbating first and they all said yes. This is a stupid formula, right? Thank you.

I'll be in San Francisco this weekend at the Wonder Con. Stop by Friday-Sunday and get your geek on! WonderCon :: What's New

People have been asking for some proof of authenticity with the autographed items from other wrestlers, available at 5 Star Comics. We obtained those photos and things back when the physical store was open and I had monthly guests in there. There's no tracking down proof for you, but if it comes from my store...C'mon! Do you gotta ask these stars if they know me?

I get asked what I drive, sometimes, and I realize that you could benefit from knowing that I drive a hybrid. I love my car. It's a 4 door with plenty of room. It doesn't look funny. It looks just like the other Camrys. The difference is- I drove it off the lot for 465 miles before it needed gas. It feels like driving other cars and I forget that it's a hybrid and still love it. Take that for what it's worth.

Here's what I'm leaving with you today. I recently watched a special on women trapped in slavery in the U.S. Of course it's even worse in other countries sometimes but there are slaves here that feel hopeless to their circumstances. They arrive expecting a job as a waitress. After they are told to surrender their passports and identifications, they are sent to a place where they passed around the room, repeatedly rapped and broken down. Then they are rented out or sold to pay back the enormous debts they are told they now owe for the flight and accommodations. They work, afraid to tell anyone in fear of their families being murdered. It's pretty bad. While I was watching this, and comparing it to men I know who think being a "pimp" is cool, I felt angry. I also couldn't help but entertain the thought of how impossible it would be to control men this way. Men would fight and run and protest.
Here's a question for all males reading this. Have you ever...ever, really wondered what it would be like going through life as the weaker sex? Can you imagine knowing that most likely, you could be taken advantage of if the men around you were not decent people?

I know, some of you ladies are strong, and some guys are pretty weak. If this is the case with you, just own it and stop trying to steal people's energy. On the tv show Blind Date, you always see guys wrestling with women they just met, and they're serious! Whether they're rolling on the ground or boxing or whatever, the guy REALLY wants the girl to know that he is the dominate one! Quit being such an a-hole and help the lady up! Establishing dominance is a control factor used to take someone's energy to make up for a lack of self-esteem. When you're in balance, you don't need to take people's energy. You even try to give them energy, which raises your energy by doing so. Awareness is the key. Notice next time you're trying to take someone's energy...and stop it. Ladies who want to beat guys up because they got some masculinity where others have feminine qualities -this goes for you too. Competition is different. That's where you exercise your challenges and grow from it. Some ladies might be offended by being called the weaker sex. Face it, men are designed to be physically stronger and unless you are an exception, you live your life knowing this.

When I have a problem with an individual, I naturally think of physicality as a means to solve the issue. This is so natural, that I’m surprised when I’m reminded that not all men think this way. Now, to think of being a female, and never thinking from that perspective, seems very unnatural to me. Females must live their entire lives viewing the world from a woman’s point of view. Personally, I pull over to help push cars out of intersections when I see that a female is at the mercy of the stalled vehicle. I do the same for a dude if he needs help. I’m not saying you should all go to this extreme, but if you don’t feel like you should have to hold the door open for her, just check and make sure it’s not because you resent her for getting special treatment. If you’re hating on women because nothing would ever come between you and your bro’s, you should probably check and see if you’re gay.
Men who beat women are as tough and respectable as men who beat children.

Okay, I’m off to the Wonder Con. Feel good everybody!

No Formula for me, Thanks.

Greetings everybody. I hope 2008 is treating you great!

You may have caught one of my interviews I’ve done recently, to promote RVD TV. Fans that don’t read my blogs and only know the man with all the moves might be surprised at my honesty. That will be consistent, as I don’t lie. I’m not saying that I’ve never told a lie in my life, but that’s what growing is all about-looking back always shows a lesser you. If I enjoyed lying, I could have delivered the promos that the wrestling business wanted to here-about how my championship match next week meant more to me than anything else in the world and blah, blah, yawn. I couldn’t have cared less. Oh. don’t get me wrong. I’m not saying that the wrestlers are lying to you. They are that excited to be there and it really does mean a lot to them. They’re just marks! I was more of a black sheep, so when I talked about something I really DID care about- like ECW’s return at One Night Stand, or inducting the Sheik into the Hall of Fame, I delivered. Then, I was the mark. While my close friends appreciated the speeches, most of the others up there were shocked because they don’t know me. Work environment, pretentious place, untrust-worthy co-workers, homesickness, depression, resentment- sometimes you have a little guard wall around your true self, don’t you? I know what you’re thinking. You think I’m going to transition into how the only place to catch the real RVD is RVD TV but I’m not. Not yet.

I’m going to give you some insight above what most fans and wrestlers realize, because I have the brain to lay it out for you. Most wanna-be-wrestlers pattern themselves after their favorites. To that I’ve always said “why bother?” There’s already someone like that, and that position is filled. Maybe once your hero is inactive you can steal his position in the minds of the new fans that didn’t know him, but unless you have something special to offer the business, why do you think the business needs you? Okay, now there IS an answer. Ready for it? I think it’s fair to say that around 80 percent of the wrestlers in the dressing room don’t sell tickets. I’m not saying that they are unimportant, but their job is to fill up spots on the card. Ouch! That honesty probably hurt a lot of the boys, but here’s a way to check yourself. If no one has ever bought a ticket, just to see you (your cousins that you couldn’t get comp passes for don’t count) than how can you complain about not being paid enough or treated right? That makes it very hard to justify. Of course, these wrestlers still have to do business and like I said, they are important even if they are interchangeable. Here’s the formula they use. Put in enough time, put enough guys over, and your time will come and they’ll be putting YOU over. Of course, pushing an unmarketable identity is bad business so what happens when their time doesn’t come around? They become bitter. They feel that the business missed the boat with them. Next is the part of the formula that so many of my peers tried to apply to me when I was leaving, that it annoyed me. They meant no harm. They’re used to the formula. They don’t know what it’s like to be a legend. They’d say “Well, you have about 2 or 3 months after TV where you’ll hold your value and be able to get paid decent for bookings.” Those poor clueless bastards. Don’t they l know that nobody remembered them while they were still on television every week? That’s what relying on the formula does for you instead of thinking for yourself. I left WWE in June. In July, I heard wrestlers that had been gone for a long time equating time-since-tv directly to personal value! I’d hear “ You’re still like 4 weeks off TV so you got awhile to capitalize on it. I’ve been off for almost a year so I what I need is to get on TV again so I can make another run afterwards.” Uhh…yeah, sure. That’s all you need. It's not like you should bother learning how to work. Hey, I’m glad the formula is there for so many who need it. For those that stand out and know how to be superstars-may you inspire all who admire you!

See how that ended up being positive? Remember- everyone’s a teacher. Who do you want to learn from?

Hey-did I already move on from talking about my interviews? Nuts. I wanted to tell you about an upcoming…live…online…video stream interview I’ll be doing that you can all watch and even participate in…all…over…the world! That’s right! February 5th! Let’s make this TheStream.Tv ‘s biggest show ever!!! theStream.tv -

How’s the writer’s strike treating your favorite shows? I know. Still, we found some good ones to tune in to. The Sarah Conner Chronicles kick ass. Medium is back. We’re fans of the L Wod. Shut-up! We are! Lost is days away. Just found Breaking Bad and-wow! That’s set for season pass! Hogan looks awesome on American Gladiators. Yes, I love Ninja Warrior, too! Here’s a reality show for you that’s hard to look away from. I’m talking train wreck with bodies lying around, ya know? Celebrity Rehab. Oh my God! Watch Celebrity Rehab.

Anyone planning to go to my favorite vacation spot, Hawaii, stop and see my good friend Tommy Rogers at his new surf board rental booth at Waikiki-right behind the concession stand- and tell him you miss watching him and Bobby Fulton, tearing it up as the Fantastics.

RVD TV is membership based, and not everyone can see it, so I won’t be pushing it to death here on my blogs. However, you have to set aside at least a paragraph for it, especially when I creatively bring it up like this…

Several nights ago, Justin McCully (JMC), SVD and I went up to Big Bear to the Punishment Palace in stealth mode, with a night-vision camera. We thought it’d be a good idea to prank Kendall Groves while he’s up there training for his big fight. Plans fell apart- one after another, we got stuck in the snow, Tito – our inside man- left, and still, we persevered. Kendall, Solomon, Rude Boy, and the other Punishers all gave their stories of the night to our camera for a future episode of RVD TV and we are all laughing our asses off. That’s LMAO’ing for all you keyboard kats. We also filmed my friend ( not lover-no matter what he says) Jay Mohr at the Improv for an upcoming episode of RVD TV and were fortunate enough to get a cameo by his beautiful wife Nikki Cox!

I can’t believe anyone is doubting Brock Lesnar. Maybe they don’t know first-hand that Brock is ten times as strong as he looks. Maybe they just think of him as a pro wrestler, when in fact, he only did that for a few years of his life, maybe? He’s a shooter. He’s a physical freak of nature. Just because he doesn’t have a long MMA record does not mean he suffers from lack of experience. I saw him pummel that poor bastard at his MMA debut here in Los Angeles. I wasn’t surprised. Frank Mir is no push-over, but my money’s on you, Brock.

The blog’s getting kinda lengthy, but I want to leave you thinking about something. Obviously, it’s inhumane and sadistic to want to watch someone being tortured, right? To get pleasure from hearing someone scream in pain and maybe even enjoy seeing that person die is not a nice thought. We can all agree with that, right? So, what if this person caused you great harm and pain? This person killed someone you love, carelessly. You experience grief beyond imagination and have someone to point a finger at. Is it wrong to want to see that person get what they have coming to them?

I admit that when I watch America’s Most Wanted (best show on television) I want these ass holes- who rape little kids and then hide the bodies in hopes of getting away with it- to suffer so bad that I personally want to punish them. Are thoughts of brutal dismemberments okay in the name of justice? When I watch some idiot trying to escape a police car chase on tv, risking or hurting the lives of innocent people unfortunate enough to be in this idiot’s way, I often hope to see them crash into a tree or off the road. That’s not very zenful of me, is it? Is it okay that these thoughts come from a dark place if someone is held accountable? An eye for an eye isn’t always such an easy equation. It could be two positions on a cycle that never ends, but we can’t see the other side. Explore your thoughts. Do you wish people harm? Anybody? How do you feel about that? While you’re kicking this around in your head, remember- all actions have consequences.

Have a Vantastic week everybody!

IT'S ALIVE! RVD TV LIVES!

Happy New Year everybody! To get the new RVD’s Dojo T shirt, and the RVD TV T shirt, click here Holland's Windmill Airbrush

To check out the merchandise in the 5 Star Comics Store, including a bunch of autographed items, RVD 5STAR STORE: RVD's 5Star Home

So, I had a big match with Booker T. in Texas last week. Thank you to everybody that made it, driving in from all over the map! PWA has a lot going for them. Official Booker T. Web Site The promotion and the wrestling school are very professional- as if you’d expect anything less from Book. It was also great to see Scorpio, Boogie and Shelton who were in the house. It was fun wrestling Booker T, but not fun enough to live back on the road again, in case you’re wondering. I do appreciate the booking offers from all over the country and also Japan, England, Germany, Australia, New Zealand, Italy, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Portugal, Ireland, Spain, and any other country I may have forgotten, but I’m still not looking to leave home.

Traveling to Houston and back did remind me how much I dislike flying. Many of you can relate to the pain-in-the-ass security lines and privacy violations, and probably even the delays and cancellations. I’m giving myself a headache just thinking about all that crap, let alone the constant, unnecessary announcements on the airplane that have to be a deliberate attempt by the captain to keep me from getting any rest. I don’t want to look out the window. I’m trying to sleep! I don’t care that we’ll be starting our descent in 25 minutes. For the love of God, just do it! They even wake me to try to get me to eat their “food”, but if you ever put your tray down you are trapped like baby in a high chair and that’s what they want. Now, here’s a perspective from a frequent flyer. That’s right- I qualify. Spending hundreds of days a year going through airports, you learn the system. A couple weeks ago, I went from my car to boarding my airplane in 7 minutes in Long Beach. LAX is a lot bigger. I usually do it in 20, I’ve done it in much less.

Even when a frequent flyer can deal with the challenges set forth by the system…you know what else they face? They still have to deal with you! You cock-blockers that don’t make a living from flying make traveling as hard as you possibly can for us. I use the word cock-blocker because I think it sounds funny-but here’s what you do. Let’s just start at the gate, shall we? You know that we’re boarding by group numbers and you know you’re in group 4. Why do you have to stand in front of the passage way, cock-blocking us passengers who get to board ahead of you? I’m sorry you don’t have credentials to pre-board and they won’t let you on until they call your group number but dude, get out of the way! Once inside, I can wait to pass until you’ve stored your luggage but when we are deplaning, after the flight, don’t stand beside me or sneak up to try to pass from behind so I can’t get out of my seat. We do it by rows, starting at the front, cock-blockers! After we get off the plane, you cock-block on the moving sidewalk like it’s a freakin’ ride at Six Flags. You cock-block at baggage claim because -why should anyone else get their bags if yours hasn’t come down yet, right? I have no doubt that you drive home slowly, in the passing lane. If I’ve offended any of you cock-blockers-hey- no hard feelings. Just think of someone else once in awhile. Hey wasn’t that a funny use of the word cock-blocker?

We have to be careful to not let our pet peeves get the better of us. I bet I know one of yours. How do you like people who talk on cell phones while they’re driving? I heard that they’re going to outlaw it here in California this year. Do you think we should enforce laws based on “good ideas”? Or do you think we should use statistics? I’m all for making a change for the better, but I know we don’t all have the same views on logic. I think texting while driving is potentially dangerous, but do I know that it causes many accidents? I don’t know. This should be a factor, when we’re taking people’s freedoms. Maybe we should outlaw eating while driving. Dipping your French fries in ketchup at 60 M.P.H. has to be dangerous. Anyone looking into that? Seems like it would cause the same kind of danger. I’m just saying, for instance, if they’re going to say a substance kills-shouldn’t they have an actual case or two to prove it before they ban it? Maybe cell phones really do cause accidents. Maybe the almost-silent-noise of the hybrid cars really do cause blind people to get hit often when they’re crossing the road. Maybe selling or buying alcohol on Sundays really…hey-what IS up with that? I just want to enforce my opinion that real-life cases should be required before we surrender our quick feelings on a subject that sounds good based on “common sense”. Look around. Our senses aren’t all that common.

You know me- I’m just trying to have you thinking.

As always, I look forward to reading your feedback. Have a great day!

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://rvdtv.blogspot.com/2008/01/its-alive-rvd-tv-lives.html' title='IT'S ALIVE! Greetings to all. Thanks for the many, many kind wishes for my birthday.

Glad everyone seemed to enjoy my brief appearance on RAW. Of course, even though it was a reunion for the 15 year anniversary, many of you refuse to believe that I’m not back. Hold on to whatever you need to, but I’ll be chillin’ in Southern Cali while you’re doing that. It was a fun experience, being there for one day and knowing I’m going home instead of on to the next spot on the map. Some of the other wrestlers jokingly said goodbye with “ See ya at Wrestlemania”. We’ll see.

Making an exception to my plans of California dreaming, I’ll be in Houston on December 28th for PWA’s one year anniversary show. RVD vs Booker T headlines this huge event in Texas, which is sure to have a record breaking crowd. If you’re able to make it, know that this is a rare opportunity to witness those RVD moves actually being done by RVD and not an impressionable wanna-be. Sweet, one-of-a-kind action! Official Booker T. Web Site

I’m stoked for Lost to be returning for another season in a few weeks. I just finished watching season 3 on DVD, and damn- that’s a hard one to walk away from when I have time to keep watching. Good stuff.

Anyone caught Lil Bush on Comedy Central? Dude, this is something to laugh at. We keep a few episodes on Tivo and re-watch them sometimes for good medicine.

I’ll be writing blogs more often once RVD TV is up and running. I’ll be wanting to give you a heads up on each episode as it’s released, and I’ll be damned if it doesn’t look like that’s going to happen real soon.

In fact, it appears that RVD TV will be open Christmas week, with parts of the web site still under construction- so wear your hard hats. You and I have both been waiting a long this to come, so plan on having another reason to celebrate over the holidays.

I got some new RVD T shirts. They totally kick ass. Featuring the legendary art work of Joe Holland, my in-ring outfit airbrush artist, I predict that these shirts are going to be top picks for all time favorite RVD T shirts for many people. The good news…you can order them online now! Check them out and let me know what you think!-Holland's Windmill Airbrush

Remember, for more merchandise, including RVD's secret stash ( like ring-worn boots and outfits) and collectible items from RVD's 5 Star Comics click here eBay Store - RVD 5STAR STORE: RVD's 5Star Home

So, baseball wants to take the heat off of pro wrestling, huh? When the major news about the almost 100 ball players that have taken steroids hit the press, it became the subject to talk about. As always, not wanting to disappoint, allow RVD to offer a different perspective. First off, let’s acknowledge the legitimacy of “roids” as medicine. Testosterone replacement therapy is recommended by many credible doctors to increase health. The fact is, as we grow older, our testosterone levels drop, causing aging factors that are detrimental to our well being to occur. That's a fact for us all- athletes or not. Steroids were invented to increase aggression in soldiers during the war, but we know all’s fair in love and war, right? That’s another blog all together! If a professional athlete wants to be the best he can be, why not consider a medicine that promotes his chances? I think this is one point where the views get distorted. People want to compare their heroes to themselves. Just because Bob the banker plays softball on the weekends, doesn’t make him a pro, does it? Regular people can and do play football, lift weights, race and even compete in dangerous sports…like fishing and poker! People don’t wrestle for a hobby. It’s entertainment. Take cheating off the table with that one and let’s stick to the other competitions. You want to compare your batting average to your heroes and let’s face it- that’s not fair. These athletes have followed their dreams and sacrificed everything to be where they are. You just want to play for fun when you have time. These athletes make their living off of competing at the highest level, full time! They want to get as far as they can possibly get and have devoted their lives for it. Let the pros be pros and don’t stop them because your ego won’t let go of your college days when you could have taken a different path.

I’ve heard people say that it’s not fair that Babe Ruth’s record could be broken today only because of drug use. Isn’t it a fact that we have better arthritic medicine and pain and joint tension relievers today then Babe could have had? Don’t we have better education on physical fitness and health and well being? Better equipment for athletes to exercise on? Better supplements? I’ve even heard people claim that the weight of the bat, and the size of the playing field have been altered. What’s wrong with progressing with the times?

I love how the media puts their twist on everything. I saw some young kid on television respond when he was asked what he would do next time he saw his busted “hero” on the pitcher’s mound. The kid simply stated that he would “Boo”. This may strike an emotional cord with you, but not me. “Oh, how heart- breaking that a child feels that way about his role model!” “ We must do something”. That’s what they’re hoping to inspire, but I’m looking at this 7 year old kid and laughing at the attempt to brain wash me. I remember when I was that young and my mom would say “ Robbie, I think it’s gross when people don’t wash their hands after they go to the bathroom, don’t you?” I’d say “ Uhh…yeah.”

She’d then tell others “ Robbie think’s it’s gross when people don’t wash their hands.” there by making it appear as if it was my own thought, to me and to others. That’s what adults do for kids, which is great, but let’s not forget that when we hear the ”shocking” opinions of children. The opinions are not their own, but their parents.

What about the danger? As with everything, there are dangerous levels of abuse. Are the dangers exaggerated? More than you could possibly imagine. In fact, I believe that most of you reading this are under the impression that the reasons you are hearing about so many wrestlers dying are from steroids. That is what most people seem to think. You too?

How is it, that certain facts are completely over-looked in favor of feeding the fear monster? Many of you read about the 64 wrestlers who have died since 1997 under the age of 50, in Maxim Magazine. Did you happen to notice that steroids were mentioned as possible fatal contributions in only 3 of those deaths? That’s if you agree with them that GHB is a steroid, which it is not. You may read about the drug over doses and think maybe it’s steroids. It’s not. It’s almost always, 100 percent, always, always, the muscle relaxer called Soma. Soma, often mixed with other drugs in what we call the “wrestlers cock tail”, is what sends my friends and peers to the grave.

One factor I admit is questionable is the common enlarged heart. It is referred to as “athletes heart” by the medical profession which implies that it is common with those involved in sports. Many people have this without being involved in any competition. I don’t know why it’s so common but it’s not something you can just blame on steroids. Maybe it's related. We should look into that.

So, what do we do? Is it feasible to have separate leagues for athletes who use and those who do not?

Have you ever heard of natural body building contests? They’ve been doing it for years, haven’t they?

I think we should be grateful for modern medicine for all it has achieved. Longer, healthier, more productive lives have been possible since the invention of penicillin and everything that has followed.

Is it really worth putting all this negative energy on America’s favorite pastime? Are the players cheating or are the rules holding them back? How many of you would take a pill if you were guaranteed a world championship reign that would put you in the history books? A lot of folks would trade in their lives for a guarantee like that. Some folks would trade their lives in just for the chance, with very small odds of making it to the top. They want it that bad. It means that much to them. Is it their line to draw, or yours because you want to compare their batting average to yours?

Agreeing to play by given rules and secretly breaking the rules to win is always cheating. If there’s room for flexibility, it’s in the rules. How about we learn more, instead of giving in to the fear that makes us seek comfort in the form of appeasing bull shit? That sounds like a good idea to me. Medicinal value is golden for survival. There are levels of usage and abuse with anything you can put into your body.

Be smart about that, and acknowledge that others may not be as smart as you.

Merry Christmas everybody!

Happy Horus Day?

The wait is over. The blog is here. Get to reading.

Quick question for you -- who has had more World Championships (not title reigns) than any other wrestler in history? Someone get back to me on that. I was trying to put two and two together and want to see what you come up with.

I’ll be doing an interview you can catch live this week, on Friday at World Talk LIVE!, and even ask me a question on the air or just remind me how cool I am if you wish. This isn't an invite for interview requests; it’s just one that I agreed to, hoping RVD TV would be ready to push. It’s taking longer than we expected, but we should be there very soon. Hopefully, you can be enjoying it for all it’s worth before Christmas -- which is rapidly approaching, isn't it? In the meantime, I'm going to hook you up with a new trailer on my site to show you what we're doing with the concept. I'm waiting for the website to be finished that will contain RVD TV and then I'll be waiting for your feedback.

Fans in the Los Angeles area -- put “Photo taken with RVD” on your Christmas list and make it happen on Saturday, December 8th at Frank and Sons. Get there early enough and be one of the first to get the new kickass RVD t-shirt!

I'll also have that new shirt in the 5 Star Comics store in a few days so keep that in mind and checkout eBay Store - RVD 5STAR STORE: RVD's 5Star Home over the next couple of weeks. We'll have some one-of-a-kind items up at RVD's Secret Stash for you to checkout, too.

Grab the Maxim Magazine on the shelves right now to read the latest published story on Chris Benoit. They really put you in the moment, which I found quite eerie. I learned a couple things I wasn't aware of, as well. Thanks to the fan that wrote in and told me about the issue. In fact, everyone who wrote in to tell me that they closed their eyes to try to feel the energy around them -- awesome! Everyone requesting my workouts -- it’s coming. As for the Ghost Rider movie -- for taking 20 years worth of the dark, hellish, spiritual story and turning it into 90 minutes of fun for all ages, they did a good job and made a fun movie. Oh, and the waiter that doesn’t think Roxxy is hot -- gay! And I’m sorry that wrestling sucks but what makes you think I could save it? Why do you think I don’t want to be there? Also, thanks for the birthday wishes. Unlike many of my fallen brothers, I’m happy to make it another year.

If you hear rumors about RVD planning on making an appearance at Booker T’s one-year anniversary show for his Texas-based promotion at the end of December -- it’s true. I’ve been telling interested wanna-be wrestlers that Book has the best school I know of for a long time and now, with my personal, physical endorsement, you can all assume that Book must be a pretty good friend to get me to come to Texas!!! More info when I get it.

A long-time friend of mine has to pay his bills so check out Funny Employee Awards and see if his creative book is something you can use. Good luck, Larry. If you make so much money that you want to buy me a Christmas gift, just send cash, dude.

Have you guys seen Boondocks? I recommend it, if you are not easily offended by rough language. I watched season one on DVD, uncut, and I think it’s brilliant! Knowing that I live in a country where a shock jock can get fired for calling the wrong people “nappy headed hos,” I warn you that if you watch the cartoon Boondocks uncut you will hear some adult, or as I like to call it, real language. Censorship has always been strange to me. Today, I heard Offspring calling someone a "dick" in the "get a job" song. It made me wonder why I got bleeped for saying "penis" on the Mancow Show. Strange.

Are you ready for a brain-stimulating movie that aims to open up even the tightest of minds?

Dude, watch Zeitgeist - The Movie. If you can't sit in front of the computer for that long, you can watch it on YouTube in 13 parts. They cover three different subjects of controversy that are sooooo worth talking about. It took awhile to get around to watching this after it was recommended but it was so good I watched it again to show someone. Have you heard of the B.C. deities Horus, Attis, Mithra, or Dionysus? They were from different cultures but had a lot in common. For instance, all were born on Dec. 25 to a virgin, and were resurrected 3 days after their demise. See if this quote from the website doesn't grab you...

“They must find it difficult, those who have taken authority as the truth, rather than truth as the authority.”

I know -- pretty awesome, huh?

The number one fan comment I receive is “When are you coming back?” My answer is everywhere, but no one wants to hear it. That’s cool. I’ll probably cash in on that return run, maybe, some day. Right now, I’m getting to know me in a way that I couldn’t while someone else owned me. My growing inner connection is invaluable, and it makes me stronger every day. Scrambling through hectic, stressful days will distance you from your true self. Get to know that person. That is your spiritual self, underneath the layers of environmental influence. Look at what self qualities you are truly proud of. One of the qualities I take the most pride in is being genuine. In fact, I can get quite offended when I’m accused of the opposite. I guess that’s because I believe we are all trying to figure life out, and today is tomorrow’s history. You want to fuck up history forever? I want everyone to know what I live by, and exactly what the fuck I die from. I don’t say anything behind anyone’s back that I wouldn’t say to their face. That’s genuine.

Guys who lie to the ladies so they can use them, for instance, are not genuine. They should know that. We all know people that appear fake or ingenuine and they are comfortable being that way. They just aren’t genuine people. I guess they admire other qualities about themselves.

Do you ever wonder where good morals come from? I used to think that it was something you were born with, that bad people resisted. Is it just what family and society gives you? We all have a general understanding of what’s right and what’s wrong, don’t we? Actually, there’s quite a range of opinions. Here’s a scenario for you -- I’d like to think that if I lived pre-Civil War, I would know that slavery was wrong. Would I know? What if everyone else that I ever met, including my family, taught me that slavery was fine? What if I grew up, owning a slave? Bull shit. How the hell could I not know that it’s uncompassionate to have a human being chained up to the dog house? I think that I would have to know how wrong it was, regardless of what society taught me. Actually, since you read my blogs, you know that I am not a conformist so I would never let society think for me. But what if I never had the option of free thinking because society was such? We’re still individuals, whether they try to take that away or not. In fact, that’s probably why human slavery still exists today in the U.S., Thailand, and other places where compassion seems to be absent. I’m just using that as an example. My topic here is good morals. If you are indeed born with your own set of morals, can they be taken away from you? Maybe replaced with whatever the standards are? If Mom and Dad are bad, does that mean you have to be bad? Would you have to witness good to know the difference? Personally, I don’t think I do anything if I feel like it’s wrong. My bible-quoting friend disagrees with me, but I trust my own judgment. I may be aware of others who will not approve of my actions, but if they aren’t God, chances are -- they're wrong. That’s because I don’t think I approve of things that God disapproves of. I do not live with that conflict. That must be what smoking cigarettes and wanting to quit feels like. I don’t know. Well, okay, one questionable thing comes to mind. I do eat murdered animals because society has taught me that nothing beats a delicious, tender filet mignon. MMMMMM...steak!

We process a lot of info in life, and some of it sticks. Pay attention to what you are attracted to -- to what gives you energy. Those are hints of your intended path and it feels so right to be on that path. It’s the most reassuring feeling you can have; that you’re living life as you are supposed to. Everybody needs this security, but they don’t all get it and they don’t all know they need it. The more you are able to be connected, the more you realize when you are not connected. It’s what’s on the other side of that connection- the Universe, Life, God, that energy -- whatever you want to call it -- that has all the answers.

We’re just the castaways of Lost, stuck on an island, and we know we’re being watched and tested, but we just blindly follow instructions left for us by our predecessors and wait for night to come. That’s not good enough for me. I say we live in the magic of life!

Either way -- happy shopping for the holidays everyone. Cough. Cough. Pegan parties. Pardon me.
